Arragh its fairly harmless on a scale of 1 to his hypocritical position on boglands as 11 it rates as a bare 2

Almost as funny as the oul lad using the Slushy as a hand sanitiser though

Two very bad polls yesterday for Trump - all his roads to victory go through Pennsylvania and two A-rated pollsters have him 9 points behind there. Biden now 8/11 and Trump approaching 11/8 on the machine.

Anything possible of course but in this very polarised cycle, it's hard, barring some kind of total meltdown, to see either contender getting much momentum out of tonight...
They should have the option to tag in their running mate. Replace Joe with Kamala and watch her own the night.

I wonder what will be Joe's PED of choice for tonight.

Sure he has dementia (caused by all those years of paedophilia), the main is actually clinically dead and George Soros controls him via remote control.

Surprised an informed individual like yourself didn't know this.

Genuine question, were all the polls not way off last time in favour of Hilary, assume some of the same A Rated pollsters were involved then too? Or whats changed in that area to make them more believable now V 2016?

Just as in the election polling, both candidates got a boost from their respective parties’ conventions, and the odds ebbed and flowed throughout August before a bumpy first two weeks of September for Clinton drew this race as tight as it had ever been at the sportsbooks. Trump was just a +160 underdog at Sportsbook.ag, with Clinton’s favored odds closing to -180.

Shortly thereafter, though, the “Access Hollywood” tape and all its aftershocks slammed Trump down to +515 at Bookmaker.eu by the day of the final debate – appropriately enough, held here in Vegas – while Clinton looked prepared for a coronation as a -740 favorite three weeks before Election Day. Clinton wagers were flooding into the offshore and overseas books. Ireland sportsbook Paddy Power, looking to stem the seemingly inevitable tide, took the almost unprecedented step of actually paying off those who held tickets on Clinton – a $1 million hit, 21 days before a vote was even tallied.

Clinton was never as far ahead as Biden in the polls and the frame of reference was completely different: as I cannot tire of repeating, 2016 = referendum on Hilary, 2020 = referendum on Trump

so, for example, using that thingummybob: 50 days out

Clinton was up 0.7% in national polling
                              Biden was up 7.1%

here's the 538 numbers up to Election Day 2016

When people are faced with the reality of openly admitting to a pollster that they are a racist they tend to be a bit more reticent about it than they are in the privacy of the polling booth.

I've not had the chance to read the main NYT article about his taxed but I read a synopsis bit from them, what's the best way to get around a paywall?

I'm gonna try and get up to watch the debate to see how Trump fairs especially after the last couple days, will you be setting your alarm to wake up to watch also?

Anybody watch The Comey Rule? Caught it myself last night and it wasn't as good as I'd expected but it pretty much covered all the points spot on.

The Demo hand is much stronger now especially seen as Hillary was spot on in her 2016 comments/warnings

I feel it was a premature decision to reopen pubs. No matter the person, you simply do become more lax about what is required from social distancing. If the government was uncomfortable/unprepared for an increase in cases then they should have remained shut. It was inevitable that the reopening would lead to an increase.

We were sweating further restrictions in the lead up to our wedding but given the number of cases and restrictions currently in place in the counties relevant to us, we will be fine but additional restrictions beyond L3 are inevitable.

It depends on the type of wedding. We planned just the two of us in NYC in October, location changed to Ireland. Everything else including date effectively remains unchanged. We are simply lucky that is the way we wanted to do it.

The govt and colleges need to take some of the flack here too, they persuaded students to come and get accommodation so they would get paid, then rolled back on amount of hours in college. They created this, thousands of 18 year olds get first taste of freedom after added covid shite and missing a whole summer and then they go and do what anyone would expect.

I really cant think if I landed down there at 18 I would have been the one to say no I think we should all sit in . It should have been clear that it was online only for now and any minimal hours required in colleges for labs and the likes you travel to galway then, student accommodation could have been used for short lettings to assist this.

The govt could have added restrictions for colleges, same way they have added restrictions for other industries so the decision of whether to choose profit over public health was not given to the industry or owners. But they didnt want to bail out colleges so they let them go ahead.
I dont know what the magic answer is to get a bunch of 18 yr olds to give a fuck if lockdown and death hasnt worked, but therell be plenty more of this coming. Will Michael Martin be down to inspect the spanish arch like he did the Olive Bond I wonder?

eidt: Also i think booze contributes for sure but i dont think the pubs being open is what caused the scenes in Galway. Most students dont drink in pubs anyway, they were likely all in town drinking bags of cans or naggins in bottles, the few that were in the pubs were kicked out at 10pm and joined the others. All this would have taken place somewhere else if the pubs were closed. So unless youre proposing banning alcohol i dont think closing the pubs will do much for student spread

You put two things beside each other for long enough for simpletons they associate one with the other.

It's slur or imputation that demonizes the target, it creates feelings of disgust at the 'other'.

maybe the Dems aren't all bad, wait the Dems are pedos, you dont like pedos do you? Of course not. Fuck the Dems, those pedos"

It also turns any rebuttal into a defense of accused pedos. And as Raoul is fond of pointing out, if you are explaining you are losing.

And invariably you end of explaining how such and such isn;t pedo and running underground child sex rings rather than talk about the actual point you were trying to make,

Hence I do see the point of anyone arguing that the scenes in Sligo, Galway etc... of people in their late teens/early twenties going on the batter is very understandable from their standpoints. They know they are unlikely to get seriously sick (though some will and the full impact may not be known for a long time), all the talk about 'killing grandparents' is insubstantial and easy to ignore, so why waste literally the best year(s) of their lives when their older siblings and parents didn't have to make such a sacrifice? Asking people of that age to social distance indefinitely is an impossible request.
