Ignore such blandishments from inferior get rich quick schemes

Instead stick with the tried and trusted option of the IPB Aintree Tipping Comp. As seen on TV.

LONDON (Reuters) - PayPal Holdings Inc will announce later on Tuesday that it has started allowing U.S. consumers to use their cryptocurrency holdings to pay at millions of its online merchants globally, a move that could significantly boost use of digital assets in everyday commerce.

Customers who hold bitcoin, ether, bitcoin cash and litecoin in PayPal digital wallets will now be able to convert their holdings into fiat currencies at checkouts to make purchases, the company said.

The service, which PayPal revealed it was working on late last year, will be available at all of its 29 million merchants in the coming months, the company said.

“This is the first time you can seamlessly use cryptocurrencies in the same way as a credit card or a debit card inside your PayPal wallet,” President and CEO Dan Schulman told Reuters ahead of a formal announcement.

Checkout with Crypto builds on the ability for PayPal users to buy, sell and hold cryptocurrencies, which the San Jose, California-based payments company launched in October.

The offering made PayPal one of the largest mainstream financial companies to open its network to cryptocurrencies and helped fuel a rally in virtual coin prices.

Bitcoin has nearly doubled in value since the start of this year, boosted by increased interest from larger financial firms that are betting on greater adoption and see it as a hedge against inflation.

PayPal’s launch comes less than a week after Tesla Inc said it would start accepting bitcoin payments for its cars. Unlike PayPal transactions where merchants will be receiving fiat currency, Tesla said it will hold the bitcoin used as payment.

Still, while the nascent asset is gaining traction among mainstream investors, it has yet to become a widespread form of payment, due in part to its continued volatility.

PayPal hopes its service can change that, as by settling the transaction in fiat currency, merchants will not take on the volatility risk.

“We think it is a transitional point where cryptocurrencies move from being predominantly an asset class that you buy, hold and or sell to now becoming a legitimate funding source to make transactions in the real world at millions of merchants,” Schulman said.

The company will charge no transaction fee to checkout with crypto and only one type of coin can be used for each purchase, it said.
Let's see how this goes. Is that actual crypto they will be holding or some made up PayPal price tracking thing?

If you want to get technical, no he isn't unless he invested his entire wealth on the one investment and then you have to account for tax on top of that. So he is more likely 0.001% richer

Started KBCs best deposit account last May. €4k in at the start and then €1k a month after that.

Interest paid at the end of the year. Me thinking it will take care of a bit of Christmas.

                      31 Dec 2020 Total Interest = 35.66. Dirt Deducted: 11.77 Account Credit: €23.99 LOfookingLZ

Bagged €300 today on a €7k IAG punt yesterday.

Except you are not using the crypto for the transaction, you are paying in the local currency while Paypal skim a couple of points off your crypto for the service. Nice bit of business for them.

Some of that stock options conversation is very relevant to us right now. It turns out having a greater than one percent share of a company in the form of stock options is not actually worth all that much when the company is sold for quite a lot of millions. As in, its very optional how much the options are considered to be worth, and all the parties need to agree on that. What seems on paper options that should be worth a €60,000-€120,000 payout is looking like no payout at all. But then again, there's an opportunity to work for the bigger company, maybe at a higher salary. Mustn't grumble. We'd always mentally written the options off as zero value, but still...

Yes it’ll depend on the volatility and likelihood of strike as you know, but also on the perspective of the acquirer as to how highly they value the new staff to keep them.

yeah! There was even an 'immediately vest before acquisition' clause in there. But left to the board to determine the exercise price, and given there are warring shareholders the employees fell between the cracks.

It can be a useful takeover defence, like a mass greenmail option I guess.

You would wonder how much of the gap between France and The Brits, on Astra, is down to science, and how much is down to old enmities. Poll taken before clotting issue I think.

Mad that Sputnik costs significantly more than Astra. Maybe the UK gets a discounted price because of Astra research funding early on. 62-90% WTF like.

Really like that change to vaccination only based on age group band once they've vaccinated all high risk and over 65s. It never really made sense that young healthy teachers got priority over say shop workers. Cuts out so much bullshit and special groups.

Vaccinations look like they're going to absolutely explode now. 200k this week and then only upwards from then. It's all happening now. Although realistically April is another semi write off. Albeit one where we are now allowed to travel to Bray which seems an unusual luxury.

This started on 28-Feb when I weighed myself for the first time in a few months. 13 stone 3, WTF? I laughed heartily at Mrs D3 for buying such an obviously malfunctioning device as I have been 12st 7" continuously for about 25 years but, a heated conversation later, I was persuaded that the scales were in fact not rigged. So have been going on a cycle early every morning for all of March - managed to do all 31 days (and only get wet once), usually go out as far as Sutton on the coastal cycle path and come back, about 12km round trip, doing it as fast as I can such that I arrive back in a muck sweat and ready for the breakfast.
Then a few basic core strength exercises - planks, crunches and press ups. Started out being able to do a pathetic 7 press ups but now up to a record of 16.

                                                                Ambition for April:

                                                                2. If the drill instructor from Full Metal Jacket appears to me and starts roaring that 'I didn't know they stacked shit this high' and telling me to drop and give him twenty, that I'd be able to do it.
We'll tackle the healthy diet stuff at a later date. Baby steps.

Was tempted to go for the full morbidly obese, in the hope of getting vaccinated early, but thankfully sobered up. Have lost a pound every 8 days or so since, mostly by cutting out the big breakfast and having a more normally sized dinner.

Its all about eating less.

Most Irish people still do - like if you ask how tall someone is, you're far more likely to get back '6 feet' compared to '183cm'. You probably got used to metric from your time in France.

I do measure distance in km though.

I ate the same (apart from the free candy and pastries) but used to exercise a lot every day, went to 0. Decided to do something about it as eventually I'm going to have to be able to wear the clothes I own when we go back outside and as I have a court date in June I kinda would like to fit in a suit. At 86kg and falling now. In general it is about eating less but I would consistently be doing over 1000 cals in exercise every day before. Climbing, football, yoga, weightlifting @gym, running, dancing, 2-3 hour walking every day.

Its all about eating less.

We might have been a few critical years apart in school, because by the time i did the junior cert (I think it was the second year of it being the junior cert rather than the inter cert), there wasn't a stone or a pound in sight. I'd just have no conceptualisation what 13 stone 3 is without googling.

Struggling a bit with weight and exercise at the moment. my multi year weight chart is ridic 120 kg -> 79 in one year five years to get back up to 97 then 7 months back down to 79 and today I'm 87

Running has been off the charts since lockdown, my runningmost year before was c.850K and I'm now on a rolling 12 month 2100Km but I seem to be running a bit slower every time.
Anyway I've managed to get in at least one half marathon a month since lockdown and its the 31st of march so I either do it this evening or break that sequence.

I don't have to do anything ... but I just got a nice box of meat cheese and cake from Italy so I'm going to finish up work early go out at 3 and I may or may not be gone some time

No2 Daughter has a reasonably clear mid term plan towards a sheep's cheese production business that might integrate well with it.
