I mentioned it before but I came across a report of the annual Irish Dental Association awards and one of them was "most improved practice".

There's an amazing dentist vignette in my fav book, The Cyptonomicon.
Edit: found it: https://www.smays.com/2010/03/im-afr...e-to-come-out/"I can’t find anyone who agrees with what I write or think these days, so I guess I must be getting closer to the truth." - Hunter S. Thompson

Unless I've missed something?
I guess there's an inbuilt 'give' in these things - they applied for 9 stories knowing it'll probably be cut to 6 or 7 by ABP who'll want to be seen not to be caving in, a larger portion of the Backroom Venue might be saved and there'll be alterations in the design to 'fit in' with the local environs. But all just part of the game and it will eventually go-ahead.
Pity ghostface abandoned us, he had knowledge.

And maybe something other than a hotel. There's two pretty much on the square plus a hostel. Another just up at the old motor tax office. And there's more building on Smithfield square ATM which is probably a hotel.airport, lol

It's that wonderful time of the year again where you guide my purchase of a birthday present for my wife. Last year ye went on a weird one and she ended up with super expensive pyjamas.
I have an idea for this year. I'm thinking a robe. With work from home, and just general lazy days, what everyone really wants in their life is a nice comfortable robe so they can imagine themselves swanning around in a nice four star hotel.
Where, I wonder, would one pick up a desirable robe in this ragtag world for supply chain issues and my personal lack of knowledge of what a good robe is?

Don't like this idea of Ireland deciding the DCC vaccine cert on it's own isn't good enough, and needing to get an extra covid test to travel/return here.
Seems like something that the government should tell NPHET that they are going to stick with the EU on, and not the NPHET advice.
Also it would surely slow down the take-up of boosters - a huge part of the enthusiasm for the vaccine was that it got you the DCC cert which enabled you to seamlessly go on holidays.
Having to spend day 4 of your week away organising tests in a foreign country would be a total turn-off for many, leading to people holding off going on holidays, reducing the urgency to be vaccine'd/boostered.

Revenue are fucking wasters- thought they were generally considered one of the more efficient parts of public service
forms are shite, now they’ve made a fuck up on how much I owe and when I try to ring them turns out the number I’ve been given don’t answer calls after 1.30 pm. Sitting at home on their pyjamas watching Netflix I guess
Will you ever fuck off with that shite... you are easily one of the worst posters on here for this-Pokerhand

Question.
The missus and 2 kids are going to Finland next week. She reckons to come home they will need 3 covid tests ( now elusive) and also 3 in Finland. Apparently they are 135 euros each in Finland . I'll probably had to dig through the mire later but does anyone know NOW . How we stand on short trips in relation to these tests. It's a clusterfk.

On that note, how does one get an official antigen test? Are there providers of that too that will give you an official record of when it was done for travel purposes? I presume you can't just rock up with one from Lidl in your hand, and say "here you go, no covid, I did this yesterday".
