Following the recent closure of the Fitzwilliam Casino I’ve been inundated with phone calls and messages from both players and staff of the Fitz.
Firstly, I’d like to offer my sincere regret to all who have lost their jobs so close to Christmas and indeed also to those who have lost their business. If we see a sudden uplift in our poker room, I’d like to invite those who have recently lost their jobs the opportunity of employment with ourselves.
Secondly, one of the common questions I have been asked in the past few days is will I be changing my tournament schedule to incorporate bigger buy-in tournaments to accommodate players from the Fitz. While it’s always nice to receive new customers, there’s a fine line between changing things around to suit new business and those changes costing you the existing business you already have.
That said we will make some changes to the current schedule and invite players (please post your real name) to make comments to our purposed changes as we try devise a new schedule that will be a happy minimum for everyone concerned.
The changes which we are currently looking at are as follows…
1: New Saturday evening €100 NLH tournament. Our current Saturday 3pm €40 re-entry will remain. Both Saturday tournaments will remain Double tournament points for our tournament league.
2: New Wednesday tournament TBC considering €60-€80 NLH. Wednesday night will remain Double Cash hours for our cash league.
3: New monthly tournament. Many of you have said I should not change a thing and leave it at €270 the last Thursday of the month, I’ve also been asked to move this to the last Friday of the month which also has some merit.
4: Our current €150 Buy-in, €5,000 GTD PLO Bi-monthly tournament to become a monthly game.
In the meantime, I’d like to welcome everyone who wishes to drop in and check the club out. I think you’ll be quietly surprised at our facilities; the club has undergone several major changes over the past year.
This Thursday we have our Christmas Cracker with a €1,000 added I’m sure many of you will pop in please feel free to come up to me and have a chat.
