Absolute scenes in the basketball this morning. Boston dominated throughout and somehow managed to find themselves trailing by a point with the clock stopped at three seconds. Missed the attempted shot but tapped in the rebound on the buzzer to win by 1. This is just a drill, you don't have to do anything yet.
I had to stretch a bit to get to 45 events. It's not a great year, no big footie tournament or Olympics.
As always, I'd welcome any suggestions for potential events/angles that I might have missed, tweaks to events, or even 'xxxx is shit, leave it out' comments.
SPOILER
Athletics 100M seems wide open this year and always good to include such a sporting blue riband event.
Medal table without USA looks fun and lots of countries have claims to a couple of medals in specific events. So might reward some research.
Soccer. 'No Norwegians' obviously just to prevent a Haaland pile-on. Not sure if it just leads to a pile-on on someone else but in my head it's open enough.
Womens World Cup top Irish scorer is very meh. But we don't score a lot and any goals seem to come from all over the pitch so might work.
Rugby World Cup Minnows would just be excluding the obvious ones (Big 5 from Europe, Big 4 from Upside Down land). So basically who does best out of Japan, Fiji, Italy, Georgia, Samoa etc. I think it'd get a decent spread of picks which is my object.
I'm really stretching with the Basketball NBA thing. Basically who wins the most games in the first ~30 games of the season.
Anyway, will decide on the definitive list by Thursday 6th July and await selections.

OK, YOU ACTUALLY HAVE TO DO THINGS NOW
No-one quibbled with any events so might as well go with the 22 mentioned last week.
Ireland women start their World Cup campaign on 20th July at 11am. So that's the absolute deadline.
But realistically the night before. Gives you 13 days for just 22 events. Doddle really.
