13.6% rake is pretty extortionate considering you're hosting it at your own venue and you've partnered with one of the biggest online sites in the world.

Hi Champ,
We feel its reasonable considering we provide a full complimentary meal for each participant each night, complimentary drinks for each participant per night, reg fees have to cover the cost of all staff operating at the event and the tournament itself has to be promoted/advertised which is costly in a competitive environment. Given the offering to participants we feel it is a very fair proposition. A 12% registration fee to cover all these costs couldn't be considered unreasonable as the average at large tournaments is around 10% and for the extra 2% players are getting complimentary food & drinks which would cost significantly more than €7.50 if players had to pay separately. ![]() 1. League Qualifying System (similar to League of Champions) with points awarded for players entering cashing in TNTs (no blind PLO) This is nothing like the League of Champions; the "Players" decided how the League Fund would be apportioned. The league final fund was 6600.00 and 4 quarters at 2,500+, totalling 17,000+ which the players decided how it would be apportioned. 2. League runs from Thursday Jan-18 to Thursday May-03 Still waiting on a reply to this 3. The Fitz Guarantees 70 * 375 Tickets to Poker Masters Main Event from the League System Not so the "Players in the Fitz" are actually offsetting any possibility of a big overlay. (Lets do the math) in 2017 league fund totalled 17,000 for a 1 deduction (not 100% if it was 1 or 2). 1 Month = 1400 X this by 5(months new league runs) = 7,000 x 7 (New league contribution) = 49,000 (wow) divide by 375 (cost of ticket) = 130 I guess i could be wrong with the maths!! But you can see where Im going with it. 4. Players at the Top of the League will Win Multiple Master Tickets This was actually cited as part of the reason for new league, "The system reduces duplication of tickets which was an issue for members at the November Festival". Players had an issue with paying the extra 10 not who won the tickets. 5. All Daily TNTs (except Saturday 25) increase by 5 Agree 6. There is a 7 Contribution from Each Player (5 of the top and 2 from the prize pool) I have no problem paying "Reg Fee" whatever the club does with this it's their money conversely "This contribution" is the players money and the only people who should decide where it goes is the players. 7. There will be 5 Wild Card Masters Qualifiers Drawn Randomly from all Daily TNT Winners Giving the structure of the League only complete random people have a chance to win this, a fairer way may have been to draw them from winners of "Saturday 25" I would like to point out I really like playing in the Fitz, the Dealers, TDs and staff are always friendly. I just think they got this one "Wrong". I think both sides will suffer as a result of this change, players will play less resulting in less staff needed. Myles |

Hi Myles,
All of the details for the Masters Qualifying along with the updated player leaderboard is on now on our Masters website page at http://fitzwilliamcardclub.com/en/po...-poker-masters. All of the info you need will be there and if you want to chat with the Poker Department about the specifics of the event further the next time you are in please do. As a regular player you would know communication is very open and the team are always available to speak with members. I can answer your previous question that yes the league started on Jan 18th. It didn't start earlier on January 1st (Masters itself was launched at the start of the year alright). Every euro generated towards the league, separate to the set reg fee, goes back to the players in the form of event tickets. The concept is to reward regular players at the club, generate some new excitement around the tournament programme and have something additional for members to play for. With any changes there will be people who will like it and people who wont. With this concept we put a lot of time into the concept to create a model that we felt would benefit both the club and the regular players. We feel we got the balance right and naturally you are fully entitled to your opinion on the new league as well. We appreciate your kind comments towards the club and the staff. Your regular visits and input are appreciated as well. Regards FCC

![]() OMG could you just take the time to answer the Q's Please.... YES I was a regular as you well know. Giving the complete disregard for the players opinions, that is under review. So giving that i won't be in the club in the near future, maybe you could answer the Q's raised and here are some more (I know I know). Is the Champions League still running, if so is it the same format as last year? The "50,000 Guarantee to get the ball rolling on the Prize Pool" as per your link. 26,250.00 is covering the 70 Ticket Guarantee , where is the remaining 23,750.00 being integrated into the Prize Pool ? If the Masters Qualifying League generates more than 70 Tickets, How will extra tickets be allotted to players? I don't think these are unreasonable Q's to ask.... Regards Myles |

Hello Myles,
Happy to answer your questions below. Yes the league of Champions is still running as usual and yes its the same format as last year. All of the daily contributions to the Masters league goes to the total qualifying pool so thats where the qualifying prize pools are based on. Whatever the total number of players input will be the total they will get back in the form of Masters Tickets. On your last question yes there will likely be more qualifying tickets to than the 70 guaranteed and they will be allocated on the basis of 1 * 375 ticket per each player generated from the excess. In other words the greater the excess amount, the greater the number of tickets available. The excess tickets will be allocated 1 per member. Hopefully that comes across clear. Regards FCC Quote:

I agree with "The excess tickets will be allocated 1 per member". Maybe one of the "spare 5" could be allocated to a playoff/tourney populated by players who won the Sat 25 game, most of the young players wouldn't normally have access to such a big tournament. Myles |

Hi Myles,
Great that its clarified. As stated the LOC is definitely still running as always. Im not sure why you were told otherwise. The whole concept here is to add extra value for regular players and generate extra excitement not to take away existing leagues that members enjoy. On your suggestion for the 25 euro Saturday players, this was considered but ultimately not adapted for a few reasons. There would be inevitable complaints from members if we gave 5 tickets to players from a tournament that didnt contribute to the overall qualifying fund! The question there from members would be why did they get priority when they didnt contribute over the other 7 tournaments that paid in? Also because of the low buy in on the 25 tournament it was decided that the extra contribution would too much on top of the buy in in involve that tournament. Also because there are two tournaments on Saturdays one is already part of of the qualifying league so no real need to involve the 25 event. For those reasons we decided to go with 5 nightly tournament winners who dont have tickets already as the wildcard ticket winners. The new updated leaderboard should be posted on our website very soon. FCC

Yes... I know there would be flack over giving 5 tickets from the spare ones.
My suggestion was 1 of the 5 !!! But same senario would apply . Ce La Vie Myles |

Agree with this. I only get out for a game the odd time and I've ruled the Fitz out as an option due to the huge amount of money taken out of my entry fee for leagues etc I won't see the benefit of.

There seem to be others who support the idea. It appears a little cynical to advertise a guarantee on one event & then force players in entirely different events to participate in a promotion which effectively removes any risk of the promoter facing an overlay. Hi Deebrown,
To answer your post we wont be changing the system post launch. As addressed in a previous post we feel this is the best system to work towards and provides the best value all round for both regular players and the club. It also creates a larger prize pool for the event and rewards more members than a voluntary system would. It provides more people with an opportunity to win a main ticket as opposed to paying for one and involves players from all nights and buy in levels so is all inclusive. No matter what system is operated it wouldn't be universally accepted and everyone will have their individual views about what is best for them and their circumstances. First hand feedback in the club has been extremely positive regarding the new masters qualifying league but we do accept that some players may have a different perspective on the league. FCC
