D4 Events European DeepStack Poker Championship V - Feb 7th - 12th 2012

D4 Events are proud to announce the 5th European DeepStack Poker Championships which will take place at The Ballsbridge Inn Hotel in Dublin.

The European Deepstack Poker Championship 2011 was a huge success. Player numbers were up from 465 in 2010 to a whopping 737 in 2011. Even the side events were bigger. 370 players competed in the 300 side event compared to 293 last year.

The 2012 festival has some great new additions to the schedule. Firstly there will be a 2500 High-Roller event starting on the Tuesday night. This will follow the same structure as the main event. Also for Omaha fans there is now a 550 DeepStack Omaha tournament on the Saturday. This will be a triple chance tournament with players getting 3 lots of 10,000 chips which can be taken at any time during the first 4 levels. It will have a generous 45 min clock.

Every day during the 2012 event there will be live streaming from a feature table from the High-Roller and the Main Event.

The Ballsbridge Inn is handily place on the Aircoach route for easy airport access. It has an onsite Cinema, Deli, Bars & Shop. The 24hr Coffee dock Bistro has also now opened making a great poker venue with hot food & drinks available almost all the time.

The main event at The European Deepstack Poker Championships is one of the best structured poker tournaments in the world. 50,000 starting chips, a one hour clock which goes to 90 minutes on the final day and smooth level increases all the way. This is one event that you do not want to miss!

Full schedule of events:

Mon 6th 8pm Venue TBC - Super Satellite for High Roller
Tues 7th 1pm 2500 High Roller DeepStack - 50k Chips, 1 hour clock, 3 Day Event
Tues 7th 8pm 60 + 50 rebuy/addon Satellite for Main Event
Wed 8th 1pm 550 Main Event Day 1A - 50k chips 1 hour clock, 4 Day Event
Thurs 9th Feb 1pm 550 Main Event Day 1B - 50k chips 1 hour clock, 4 Day Event
Fri 10th Feb 7pm 150 D4 Super Sat for 1000 packages to any D4 Event
Sat 11th Feb 2pm 300 Side Event - 20k Chips, 40 min clock, 2 Day Event
Sat 11th Feb 5pm Omaha 8 Max Triple Chance - 3 * 10k Stacks, 45 min clock, 2 Day Event
Sun 12th Feb 2pm 200 Side Event - 10k Chips, 30 min clock, 1 day Event

Main Event starts at 1pm every day. Other multi day events restart at 2pm.

Online satellites are already running on Red Hot Poker (BYOPP), Live Poker Events (Entraction) and will be running soon on Grosvenor Poker/Bluesquare/Boyles, Maxiplay (Entraction), Winamax and some others TBC.

Players from Europe are already registering in big numbers. Over 100 places reserved already and a lot paid for.

Main Event will be capped at approximately 500 players per day. The rest of the events will be capped space dependant but we should be able to accomodate everyone.

There has been a lot of interest in both the High Roller and The Omaha, time to see whether all the calls for big buy in events and more Omaha events are genuine - The aim for the High Roller is to get 100+ in year one and build from there.

Registration is now open at www.europeandeepstackpoker.com and you will find full details of events and accommodation there.

I think you will have to run sats for the 2500 to get the numbers in. no qualifiers and I would imagine you will get low numbers. Hope I'm wrong.

Obv blaaaaaaaaah is wetting himself at the thoughts of a 50k stack with a decent buy in

Hi All, I

will have a schedule of online sats up in the next week or so, we will have online sats for the high roller also.

I will post a full list next week, however keep an eye in the lobbies of Boyle's, Winamax, Grosvenor Poker, Blue Square, GJP, Red Hot Poker.

We also hope to have quiet a few Live Sats for this, if you or your club want to hold one please feel free to post details on this thread or contact me via pm and I will post it and get it up on our D4 Events website.

This is building up to be a great event this year and I would really like to see an increase in the amount of Irish players involved, and hopefully keep the big prize money on these shores.

The Main Event is now going to be a Re-Entry the same as the 6 Max was. 25% of players who busted on Day 1A at the 6 Max re-entered and we expect a similar % for this event.

If you play Day 1A and bust you can re-enter on Day 1B.

No chance making this double entry instead of re-entry Mike? I can only see you getting more money in prizepool if you allow ppl to buy in both days and they bring their biggest stack forward to day2.

High roller, great addition, hope it get's the numbers.

Is there anything in place stopping the average stack going below 30 bigs at any stage of tourny? I know it does be tough in the final third to combat this.

Hope you smash the numbers, good luck!

Yeah everything on the software can be set to English, but some of the description for tournaments and anything on the website is still in French

Hi Jason,

Re-Entry is now becoming very popular and in my opinion has less effect on how the tournament plays out that a multi-entry would. I like the multi-entry idea but I think it something to build a tournament around not to add to an existing tournament.

This tournament is already very long for a 500 event and the structure is pretty good at the late stages. In some events I think having this kind of rule in place is Ok - big fields with quicker clocks where the average stack can get crazy small near the end. We used it at Goliath but only to roll back if needed at the final table. I am not a fan at all of constantly freezing them, I think it takes too much of the game away and only really benefits tighter players or short stacks. With 50k chips at the start the tighter players have time to wait for hands

I don't recall this dropping much below 30 bb's except around the bubble last year anyway.
