This was incredible lads.

P1 wins the girl band battle with ease, The Roches were sublime. Salt n Pepa was an odd choice tbh, was expecting something better.

Absolutely devoured every other track from both.

Some amazing memories brought back listening to Smokebelch. I haven't heard it in years. An absolute anthem of those days.

That Idris Mohammad track was outstanding, I had turned off Salt n Pepa disappointed then 30 seconds in to this thought 'game on'. It's killing me trying to recall who sampled it, was it Daft Punk? Awesome.

Everything here, bar S&P is going onto my regular playlists, really really enjoyed it.

Tough choice.

I think I'll have to dock player 2 a point for the genre pick which was the only dud amongst greatness.

Like both first picks, very different kind of songs.
Loved the second track from player 1. Liked P2's.
Preferred P2's third track.

P2 barely

Close run final, BennyHiFi just beats HJ by a head at the post. Great stuff from everyone, I think we all got insight into new areas from these games. Thanks for everyone's contributions and posts over the last few weeks. And congratulations again to our new Music King, BennyHiFi!

Thanks all. First time lifting the trophy after a final and semi-final appearance in the last three games.

Well played HJ, he is always a strong opponent. Special shout out to Ionapaul who I nicked the semi-final from.

And big thanks to DennyCrane who organised and ran the show.

Happy to run the next one, maybe around Christmas?

But I think, as Trippie suggested in the main MK thread, a refresh of the format might be worth investigating so if anyone has any ideas stick them in that thread for now and we can discuss mid-December (or before if anyone is keen to just get on with another one).

Well done lads, congrats Benny. Cracking game, got so much from it. Very well ran Denny.

Wrecked my head for ages but finally figured out who sampled that Idris Mohammad track..

Well done Benny! You deserved to win the final. I was worried at first it was going to be a landslide! I downloaded the Roches album, I'd never heard of them.

I actually found the final quite hard, I thought I knew a few all girl bands but upon research they all had some male members. Looking forward to the next one.

Thanks for organising Denny - it was particularly well run.
