Just a story on something similar.
I was good friends from when I arrived in Ireland in 2002 till I left in 2016. My BFF person had slowly being going more mental as the last few years went by. One of those conspiracy people, was posting up around Christmas that the reason everyone was getting the cold/flu was due to the Chemtrails that were more obvious in the sky I shit you not lol.

She has 5 kids and another on the way. The youngest 2 would be 5 and 3. She teaches them all about the conspiracy stuff and the 5 year old shouts Allahu Akbar at people or when the doorbell goes. He also, if he sees a triangle shouts illuminati! it is just fucking mental lol.

We had a fall out, which I was happy about as I could not be associated with such a crazy person. She is very anti vax, anti dr, anti establishment and anti school. In fact she was going to home school the kids. Considering she didn't even get so much as a junior cert pass she wouldn't be in great shape to do it anyway.

But my sister sends me stuff and she sent a pic where she was building lego twin towers and was teaching her 3 year old all about conspiracy stuff and how it is even hard for a plastic plane to knock a lego twin tower down.

Batshit crazy is not the word. Scary is another word. These kids don't stand a chance. She allowed second eldest who was kept out of school for most of 3rd year and had to repeat the year at another school to drop out of school. He isn't even 16 yet!

If you think where Leinster were under Matt O'Connor's puke rugby and then the disaster that was last season, this year has been fantastic. I'd say majority of people (like the assembly did) would edge towards voting for most of those. In any case isn't the vote going to be 'to take the prohibition clause out of the constitution', not per se a vote for or against any of these. Any legalisation would then be a matter for the dail, something which it can't currently do. That's a much easier referendum to win, and shows some of the smarts of the assembly

My well-informed colleague tells me that store-bought ground coffee is for plebs, and the ultimate coffee is from grinding your own coffee.

He's probably right, coffee that's ground and left to sit around is probably going to lose some flavour, oils whatever.

I couldn't be bother with it though. I buy a small bag beans from my coffee shop (who roast in house) and get them to grind it. I figure its better than something ground in last year from Tescos. Lazy medium FTW.

Seems coarse-ground coffee gives you more flavour compared to the fine-ground coffee they sell in shops.

Think that's bollox though.
My understanding is that a finer grind will release oils/flavour faster, but needs to be match with the brew process/time.

A fine grind in a french press will over-extract and be bitter. A coarse grind will under-extract in an espresso machine.

Whatever you do don't get a blade one. Conical burr ftw. Looking at €100+ for anything that won't fall apart in weeks. The yoke P&F posted takes about 20 minutes to grind enough for one cup and requires a lot of elbow grease.

Not being smart but what is the point of dog grooming?

Have a dog and when he rolls in the muck I'll throw him in the canal... Or the bath if I have to.

Matting is the main reason but style another for those that want their dog to look good. Some breeds are fine for your canal/bath clean but should probably be brushed a lot too. Some dogs' hair would grow very long/thick too if left and others would shed all over the gaff if not groomed properly. It definitely tends to be the woman of the house who makes the booking and drops off the dogs.

Found when we were getting our dogs groomed that you could be waiting a week or two for an appointment, so when the wife was looking for a change of career it was one of the front runners. I only know the bits about grooming from her talking about it and from her training course that lasted 5 weeks full time. More than just brushing and washing anyway. Toenails, ears and sometimes anal glands get checked too. Very glamorous. Anyway, here's a pic of one of my dogs and she wouldn't respond well to a quick dip in the canal (although the left pic is prob what she'd look like after the canal)

I drove up from Kilcullen to M50 yesterday evening and some of the driving was shocking. I'm actually amazed the deaths on our roads aren't far higher judging by what I see most days. Yesterday I had 2 young girls driving a banger going about 140 trying to play catch with their mates (boy and girl) in a fast car. They were zipping in and out of lanes, braking hard, basically having a right craic. Problem is it will probably work out that someone else will get killed due to their driving.

I then saw this nutter flying up the inside lane, knew he wouldn't be able to get out, coming within an inch of being under an 18 wheeler. I eventually passed him (he was still in inside trying to get out) and the cunt had an eye patch fully covering one eye and was on the mobile. Brainless shit.
