This will be a Flushdraw Gamesmaster production, just doing the opening thread for him.
The 2016 Premier League Darts kicks off on Thursday and continues for a total of 16 weeks. We ran a successful predictions competition last year and will hopefully do so again.
Entry will be €25 a head, split 70/30 to pay 2 places.
Fixtures are played on a Thursday night from 7pm, so all weekly entries must be sent in by 6.30pm on that day.
Each week (Wk 1-9) there are 5 games featuring 10 players in a first to 7 legs game. A max of 12 legs can be played, so games can finish in a 6-6 draw. The 2 players at the foot of the table after Week 9 are eliminated. The remaining players will then play each other one more time (Wk 10-15) with some players playing twice a night until 16 group games have been played. The top 4 will progress to the semi-final, where they will play that game, and the final on the following Thursday.
So, here's how it works. You'll make your score prediction for the coming week's fixtures. e.g.
Peter Wright 5-7 Michael Smith
Michael van Gerwen 7-1 James Wade
Phil Taylor 7-0 Raymond van Barnevald
Gary Anderson 6-6 Adrian Lewis
Robert Thornton 7-4 David Chisnail
Just so that everyone doesn't play it safe and go for the bookies pick, the points for picking a correct score will be weighted as below:
If your players win odds with Paddypower are less than 5/2 at the time the game week thread is opened.
6-6 = 5 points
7-5 = 4 points
7-4 = 4 points
7-3 = 5 points
7-2 = 6 points
7-1 = 7 points
7-0 = 8 points
You will score 2 points if you pick the correct selection, but failed to pick the correct score.
If your players win odds with Paddypower are 5/2 or greater at the time the game week thread is opened then he will be 'enhanced' and this will be pointed out in that gameweek thread.
6-6 = 5 points
7-5 = 6 points
7-4 = 6 points
7-3 = 7 points
7-2 = 8 points
7-1 = 9 points
7-0 = 10 points
You will score 4 points if you pick the correct selection, but failed to pick the correct score.
