There are a lot of pair + straight draw, pair + flushdraw, 2 pair hands you could be ahead of, and even though you are behind you still have decent equity against his actual hand (35%) and that doesn't take into account the equity you have against his range.
I don't use pokerstove so maybe somebody can work that out.
Don't second guess yourself here, it's just a bad beat.
