Hi all,
I'm going to be visiting Ireland in early August. I've been told that it is worth taking a bit of time out of my trip to check out the Irish poker scene. So I was hoping to solicit some suggestions as to some good places for me to visit as I make my way through my first visit to Ireland.
I haven't yet decided exactly what my itinerary looks like. I will be flying into Shannon and out of Dublin. I have 5 days on my own before I meet up with my girlfriend who will be arriving in Dublin, where we will spend the next 5 days. So I will have to make my way to Dublin eventually, but have some time to take my rental car along the western and southern coast, and maybe spend a few evenings playing cards rather than just getting hammered.
Any suggestions on some good places that might be on the way for me or in a location that is worthy of a detour? Ideally, I would like to play mid-stakes limit hold 'em (e.g., around 10/20 or 20/40). Is limit alive and well in Ireland or is no limit the name of the game? All thoughts are appreciated.
