Got this email from SportingBet, and it's tilted the bejaysus out of me

Any non-settled bets will be voided and the funds returned to your Sportingbet account.

If you have any questions please contact our friendly support teams on the details above. We apologise for any inconvenience caused.

    Sportingbet
I have a few bets with them at the moment, including a decent bet on Sunderland to finish bottom at 9/1 and Crawley relegation at 9/1, and have both of them in some doubles and trebles. Sunderland are 33/20 with them to finish bottom now. So all i'm going to get is my stake returned?? If i had laid off on Betfair i would be getting the rope ready

I wonder how many more betting sites are going to go tits up now?

Voiding running bets is nothing short of disgraceful.

Letting them stand in the absence of a licence is nothing short of illegal.

I sent them an email saying that i think my open bets should be settled at a reasonable cashout rate rather than just stake back. I know the shoe could be on the other foot, but it's not for me! No idea if there's going to be any outcome other than stake back.

Is this going to affect good sites like bet365 and betvictor or am I safe?

Must the bookmaker not be licenced throughout the process of setting odds, taking bets and paying out (for any elements post 1/8/15)?

When did you place the bet Flushdraw?

I could easily get a UK address, so might try this.

I placed the bets on 8th August. Got this email last night.

Just got a call from SportingBet.

They are going to honour the bets that were made, and pay out as normal should they come in. Plus, they will refund the stakes should the bets lose.

They are in the process of calling all Irish customers who have outstanding bets with the same news.

                      Well played them.
