LIB DEMS CUT AS CLEGG IMPRESSES
Paddy Power have been forced to cut the Liberal Democrats' odds for a General Election victory from 200/1 to 80s after the UK's first-ever televised leadership debate.
While the Lib Dems remain the outsiders of the three main parties to win the General Election, Paddy Power was forced to cut their odds from 200/1 to 80s after Nick Clegg impressed. A hung parliament was also cut - to 6/4 from 7/4.
David Cameron's Conservatives remained unchanged at 1/8 to win the General Election but Gordon Brown may have been the loser on the night, with Labour pushed out for an Election victory to 5/1 from 9/2.
Paddy Power's in-running betting on the winner of the debate saw big fluctuations throughout the 90 minutes and Clegg moved from second favourite to odds-on favourite to win the debate during the programme.
Darren Haines, spokesman for Paddy Power, said: "Round one to Clegg - he was consistently backed throughout the show with Cameron holding steady. But Brown offered no interest to punters."
Shake it up (a tiny tiny bit)
they don't want Tories or Labour so eeh vote Tory or Labour
low turnout at election might be a decent bet?Last edited by Guest; 15-04-10, 23:03.
