    Grinding a Roll. 45 man's.

Basicially starting this thread to follow and keep a record of my thoughts in grinding these games on Stars. At the moment i'm playing $6.50 45 mans(turbo) on Stars as a bankroll builder and thing so far have been going well. First I must say since I started playing these around Christmas they have at times made me want to kill myself. They are soul destroying and beyond frustrating but a win feels good when it happens. I have heard of people who have had 40 buy-in downswings and as such so you can imagine what they are like.

Make no mistake this things are riddled with regs. Run into tons of Supernova's but there is value. At times it feels like your just flipping for the dead money and it's tough but certainly beatable. Discipline would be key and often a struggle for me but doing ok so far....although as I log off my last session I felt like smashing the latop.

Anyway my goals for this......move up levels. Looking to have at least $1200 to move up to the $12 ones but probably go above that due to the fact it seems like you always have your downswing when you move up. Typicial. Increase the volume. Goal for the year would be hopefully by 31st of December to have 5k in an online account and work at improving my MTT game for the following year.

This will just be fore keeping thoughts on each session and maybe sharing a thing or two I pick up along with anyone that's interesting. If not, be good to just get my thoughts on paper. I did do a blog last year for live poker and found it very helpful.

    Anyway here's my graph.

I did start off on a bit of a heater but gradually as my calling/pushing ranges improved the graph kept going. Hit my first downswing of sorts after 120 games and felt like I wasn't going to come through it too well. Thankfully didn't tilt too much. As I logged off tonight I played 12 games and made a return of 53 dollars so up 9 buy-ins and that's without running even remotely hot. Twice with 20 out tonight had my aces cracked by under pair AIPF.

Any tips advice would be appreciated.

Right pretty brutal night as I log off bust on the bubble and in 10th for nice stacks. Standard fml.

Basicially thought I played very well tonight losing flips for all the rest. I did mis-read one hand where I mistook a donk for a solid reg and shoved King high blind on blind with about 11 to go and he snapped for 15k pot. He has a10. Is it a shove against a good reg?

Have to start taking more care in spots like that because I was cruising at the time and it was my own stupidity and tardiness that cost me. Todays downswing was for 40 dollars and my account roll is now on a grand: $794.56.

I would speak about interesting hands but the way these go are mind-numbingly boring and take the least amount of skill to beat....hence why i'm playing. Here's hoping coming back fresh Thursday(playing live tommorrow) and putting on a monster grind. I do really have to up my volumne as tonight I only played 9 games and 14 last night. Just no motivation right now.

Edited here the graph after tonight.
