    Dealer killing an unprotected hand

If a players cards are killed by the dealer in error and if they are still easily identifiable is he allowed take his hand back?

The easy answer is that the onus is on the player to protect his hand at all times.
The more complicated answer is that if the hand can be absolutely identifiable, then the TD could retrieve it. However, identifiable is probably a subjective term in this case. Easy to pre-check the hand by quietly asking the player what he had before the hand is retrieved.

Most TD's will allow the cards to be taken back when clearly identifiable, but there is nothing in the rules that force them to. The relevant TDA rule states that its a players responsiblity to protect their hand.
