As far back as 5th October 2016 Northern Poker / Celtic Poker posted here & on Facebook their poker event schedule for 2017 and the dates included a tournament in the Green Isle Hotel on the weekend of 20th to 22nd January.

Can you explain why you deliberately choose the same weekend ?. Are you deliberately trying to split the poker crowd ?

Operators are constantly being criticised for dates clashing & Northern Poker/Celtic decided to be very business like & arrange their schedule well in advance. You'd wonder why they bothered with operators like you around.

Would love to play this but won't be able that weekend as I will be abroad. 1 month notice is very little for a Festival and clashing with the Celtic Poker Event I don't think you will get 100+ runners needed to meet the GTD tbh (unless a lot of players are travelling from abroad). Any chance of moving this to the following weekend?

Sorry about the scheduling conflict everyone. We definitely didn't do it intentionally. We have just joined the IPB and we were not aware of any other event. We have also had these dates contracted with The Regency for quite some time. We are not intentionally trying to split the poker crowd.

We will look at other options but at this moment we are unable to change the dates.

Hi Steve,
Just wanna wish you luck with your new venture. Will be in Vegas in January so won't be able to make it to this event but, hopefully, will make it to one of your other events in the future
.
Pity about the clash with the Celtic Poker event.

For your future reference, I run a blog/website listing all the upcoming Irish ranking events.
You can use the link below to access site.
Regards
Mick

PS. You're supposed to fill out a charter for any event you list on IPB. Details can be found here.http://www.irishpokerboards.com/foru...thread.php?t=6

Thanks Mick, I would have thought they had banned you from Vegas by now. See you next time we come around or maybe you can make it out to one of our other events. First two are on me.

With all due respects thats bullshit, it wouldn't take much to check if ye are clashing with anything. Anyone with any clue on whats happening in the irish poker scene would have known.

There's a little more to putting on an event of this scale than just picking dates that suit one party, yes it's unfortunate but sometimes it's unavoidable. Oh and starting a sentence "with all due respects" does not give the composer free reign to then insult someone they don't even know.

I think people are getting a bit over excited really, Clashes happen and players choose where they play , It just means the two organisers work a little harder to be sure of their numbers lucky enough the buyins are different and I'm sure both events will be huge :-)

Hi PEPT.
The buy-in details for your main event state €550 including a €50 reg.
Is it true you will also be retaining 3% of the prize pool to pay dealers?
Or that players will be offered the opportunity to
purchase additional chips for another €20 which will also be given to dealers?

We will be deducting the 3% for dealers yes, I will fix that in the above conditions post. Any other questions about dealing the event please refer back to Charlie Hastings who I believe you may have already spoken to.
