    Aspiring Irish Pro's

I am a 20 year old aspiring poker pro from the Midlands looking for players with the same goal and passion as me to discuss hands with and all other aspects of the game.

I have no friends with the same passionate about the game and frankly I do not think there is enough sucsessful Irish players and i would like to change that as I aim to be one of the best players in the country one day.

I am intrested in Starting a Skype Study Group

Skype name is facebook:ross.schladt add me if you are intrested.

If there are some of you out there with the same passion and drive i have have there is no doubt that we will become sucsessful

Hope to hear from some of you soon.

I'm just looking for the people who are looking to build a roll so sometime in the near future will be doing the same thing.

The bolded part of your post is extremely wrong and makes you look clueless. I would also recommend not getting into poker seriously in 2016.

Set your goals higher, most of the "best" players in Ireland couldn't beat 50nl online.

            Hi MDMAZING,

Best thing you could do would be to sign up for a coaching site and work hard on your game, read all the books worth reading and get some coaching if your budget allows

            Best of luck with it

Apart from the above good advice maybe starting posting hands in the strategy section? Seems to be be very quiet there recently. Could do with a kick start again. there are some keen minds there and will help.

I assume you will play mostly online? The Prince game is good fun and i'm not sure what the traffic is like now in the casino but you wont really develop as a player playing live in Athlone. You need to branch out to Galway or Dublin and seek out better games...

Invest in some numerical reasoning aptitude tests for yourself and if you don't come out in the top 5 percentiles (personally I'd go so far as to say the top 2 or 3) then just admit to yourself that you're not bright enough and go and get a job or further your education.

Thats true, the strategy forum always gets some decent responses here even now. A sound solid game will really stand to you and there are guys here that give good feedback.

Solid! My advice for you is to become a tournament king.

I dunno do young guys still play online poker, it was a big thing when I was 18/19, but good luck finding your buddies now, i'm sure there's a few guys out there.

I've a feeling we'll be looking back in 2 years time and saying wow THIS is where it all started...the Irish Brat Pack ruling virtual high stakes and vegas.
