Ok so I'll be needing someone to sweat me! I am happier with my play today even if my results don't reflect this. I'm starting to focus more on villian's hand range and what they could be continuing with in different spots. There does seem to be a table were I have 2 80/12 or something on it and I just can't hit anything. Gets kind fo frustrating but I guess that's just poker.

So this is a hand I'm not particularly happy with. I'm at 11/11 and villian is 44/17 over 18 hands. PF should I be raising here with my shitty position? Then how about the rest of the hand... Thoughts?

your turn bet size is pretty mouldy there imo.

Check my sig there and join the skype sweat session group, just needs someone to come in with a bit of enthusiasm to get people sweating. I'm sure most guys who are part of it would have no problem sweating you if they're available when you're playing.

Really? It's under x3 and a reasonable amount over a minraise. What would you be 4betting to there?

Why though? 2.65 is basically a minraise. Just trying to build a pot so that you can shove AI on every flop and you'r not overbetting?

Fold river in hand 2. You will tilt by calling river, he never fires 3 barrels with less than a nine. That's a 3 more often than not.

Again your 4bet is too big. Either 4bet smaller, call, or shove. I'd probably just shove.

So today went alright. I got a sweat session with bustamove to point out some possible leaks and some thought processes in some hands I wouldn't have considered before. He also pointed out that I don't defend my raises nearly enough and I'm folding too much to 3bets which I think he's right about. I just give up too easily and never really consider how it looks to my image so this will have to be adjusted. Although he did keep pointing out to me that he's by no means an expert and he could be wrong on a few points I really think he helped me see some things in a different light so cheers for the sweat session bustamove.

A few hands here. What to do in situations like this. I'm running at 28/28 and villian is 35/8 over 50 hands. I really don't get this cold call then random 4bet. Stack/fold?

And what about this one? Should I be betting the river here. I checked to induce but busta pointedf out this is probably bad as he's going to be checking behind his 10 alot here as he has SD value. Villians unknown-

I sometimes cut out what villian had so I can get non results oriented responses cause I figure even if you think you're not being results oriented when you do see the hand you're mind works more toward looking at why he would logically have that or similar and dismissing other possible holdings. And if I'm cutting the river or turn or something it's usually cause I just want thoughts on how I played the hand to that point.

Yeah first hand sucked but ah well. Second hand I think I made the right move especially considering stack size and preflop play etc. Yeah would def. be up for another one soon. Not tomorrow but maybe Friday if you're about in the evening maybe. I'm sure I'll see you on sometime anyway.

Think I should include results and future action in posts from now on?

no just put a question mark at the point you would like to have your hand analysed from might be better. for e.g. second hand maybe u want comments from his flop min raise on so you could put q mark after and not show turn or river as they are irrelevant. not a big deal i guess.

fwiw, i would be putting him allin as well here as he is short anyway and you are commited pretty much. if he has an overpair so be it.

If you are runnign that much below ev it's not just playing bad or whatever, you'll need a lot of hands for it to even itself out but you should run good.
It's a learning experience at this level and you should be getting some fundamentals into you, and improving your game, everybody starts somewhere. Remember, you are better thanmost the people you are playing, and when tempted to bluff don't, don't get too fancy. They just call you down.

Steal as much as you can, but know when to shut down after a cbet or whatever. I notice your button is a losing position for you, it should be your biggest winner, so find out why. Perhaps trying to get somebody to fold too much?

And look at pokerplayas graph here, a very competent player on a 90 BI downswing, can happen!

Yeah I think that's due to sample size but we'll see I guess. Yeah it sucks being this far below EV. Makes you really start questioning you're game being on a downswing but I guess that's good. Can only make you a better player and all that.

Yeah I saw your log alright. Been keeping up with it seems like your having a good start so far anyway. You playing on Full Tilt?

How much are you down if you were say equal EV? Not too much I'd say, 10k hands or whatever isn't too much really! Try a million Yep it makes you better, especially looking at your hands in a session and seeing why you shouldn't have done what you did. I'm calling down very light etc and stacking off
Playing on devilfish as I won my bankroll in an mtt there, and it's played in euro, I likes that. You seem to get rake of 1c per 15, I get 1 per 20 and it's still killing me. I think yours is capped lower though, mine is capped at 3e a hand

Equal EV I think I'd be down 5BI's. Can't check right now cause I'm in work. What network is Devilfish on? Yeah it's 1c per 15c capped at $2. Also the rake is higher at the euro tables cause of the conversion and everything.

I'm sick of this god dam downswing. Getting my ass handed to me by a bunch of 10NL button bashers. Ahhhhhhhhhhhhh! Anyway now that I got that out. So I've decided I'm going to up my tables to 6 and just play nitty for a while. Maybe in the range of 18/16 or something. This downswing has destroyed my BR and soon I'll have to drop down to 5NL if it continues. Figure I'll do that when it gets to 15BI's for 10NL. Should take about 2 days judging by how it's been going the last 3 weeks or so.

                                                Anyway graph-

What kind of hands are you calling pre with?

Are you missing good spots to c/raise, or float flops and take control IP on the turn?

Maybe you're not barrelling enough then. It just seems that you're leaking money hugely in small pots.

Yeah alot of my graphs do seem to drop slowly like that alright. Calling pre against a 24/20ish basically TAG stats I'm calling with AJo+, KQo+ and any pair. If I'm IP I might play 89s+ aswell but this is pretty rare for me and I'd usually end up opening these myself in LP.

Yeah floating flops IP is something I never really do. I give villian too much credit possibly.

Hmm not so sure about the barreling. I barrel when i think I'm ahead and I sense any kind of weakness. Unfortunately I see check/call as weakness and sometimes end up barreling into TP that just can't fold.

Actually ignore the part were I say that's against TAGish players cause thinking about it now that's pretty much my calling an open range against everyone unless they're very nitty PF like 16/4 or something in which case I fold alot of the bottom of it.

So your calling range is good, but you're c/f way too often then. I'm not advising floating a lot vs players at this level, but I reckon you're losing a huge amount in pots where you're calling 3.5bbs pre and then folding too often to cbets.

Just filter for "folded to cbet" or whatever it is on pokertracker, grab the top 10, and throw them into the convertor and stick them up here, no stats needed.

Wow, I'm not folding on absolutely loads of those hands!

Hand 1-4 are definite calls imo. The average opening range has absolutely whiffed the flop here, yet he'll cbet loads and loads of hands we're miles ahead of.

I like to float with AJ there and cr the turn a lot, because he'll fire barrells there with 88-JJ and fold to a cr, we're only really worried about AA, KK and AQ and KQ. We've actually got the best hand here a lot too!

Think about what hands you open from his position, and which of them hit the flop. Now think about how many didn't!

So there's a huge leak we've found, not thinking about our opponents hand enough.

Thanks for your help here Emmet as always it's much appreciated! I'll work on this over the next few days and hopefully we'll see some improvements. Might throw up some floating situations into the theory section to see how I'm doing with it aswell.

What do you three bet? When, and why?

It looks like the small pots are getting you, it's just a constant decline, you stack somebody, then a constant decline. I four table and don't think there is ever a point where I am not stealing on one of the tables at least!

Mostly worked out for me and I'm happy with my play today. Nothing major really happened as I didn't get to play too often cause it's late and I'm tired but feel alot better about it. And I'm not down 2 to 3 buy ins which is always a positive.

My attempt at a float. I'm running at 31/23 and villian is 23/8 over a very small sample. My plan here was to peel as it such a low flop considering his range is towards high cards and shoot off any club or J. Was probably checking behind most aces if he checked to get value from a river bet. Didn't work out that way but how's my thought process here?

Yeah it's not just sets I'm looking for with PP's but if I miss and theirs overs I do shut down too much but I will bet out when faced with weakness. I steal pretty often aswell. It's 45% atm.

Feeling better bout my play now that I'm not folding to every cbet and am starting to 3bet lighter from the button PF. Obv still have alot of holes to plug but I'll get to them in time. No real major hands to speak of except the one I posted in the theory section. Sounds good Tipp I'll drop you a PM later cheers.

My PF bet sizing was all off and I'm not getting nearly enough value on the river when some kind of scare card hits. Need to be betting some of my big hands harder aswell. No real interesting hands this session that havn't been discussed already.

Havn't been on this in about a month cause I'm in Australia and have no internet connection except when I'm in the library. Havn't had a chance to play so hopefully when I get more settled down I don't forget everything you guys thought me on this haha. A quick recap should be enough to get me going I think. Dono how long it's going to be before I get more settled though!

Just goes to show someone showing genuine interest and commitment can learn alot here. Id agree twoplustwo is tough place to learn micros with all the bullshiters/1 word merchants on the loose over there. IPB ftw

Your graphs in last few sessions lookin alot better, not so much gradual downswing from losing those small pots is noticable.

Look forward to starting up something similar in the coming weeks. Keep pluggin away !!

Works perfectly and poker uses very little bandwidth. I'm talking tiny amounts. Anyway hopefully today was just getting back into the swing of it. I did make a few mistakes folding when I should be calling and not 3betting and folding to 3bets too much but I recognised it after I did them so that's good and I'll keep it in mind as I play.

This is the hand that made me switch my games off before I tilt. *Sigh*-

Now I'm back and I should be getting that money back so I decided to throw down E20 and just get into the swing of things again. Not going well so far at 2NL. Hopefully this is just a transitional period.

                                                                                                            So some hands for review-

How's my flop cbet size? Also bad idea checking turn and betting river? I figured even if he checked the turn we could bet river for value since we have the deck pretty much covered.

Villian is 26/18 over 34 hands in SB and 60/37 over 60 hands in BB. Don't fold to cbets but that stats not v reliable with small sample. With the flop I figured I was going all the way with this one. Prob should have re-evaluated on the turn. Should I have peeled the river or is it ok getting it in here?

Losing alot of money to failed cbets so need to work on that. Just the one hand I'm curious about. Just joined the table. Villian is unknown. Just wondering if my PF call is ok and we're always stacking here with a 3bet pot this size right?

I'm starting to win again which I guess you could count. Here's my graph since I began back into $2NL. Starting to get the hang of it now but it could easily be an upswing aswell so still going to be cautious going forward. Only 4 tabling at the minute and I think I might keep it that way for good.
