Rankings updated with JP's Mini WSOP ME Results - Congrats to Mark Spelman who took the Title. Nicky Power moving back into Top 10 in the Rankings aswell.

Next up is D4 Events European Shorthanded Festival which kicks off with a Super Satelite this coming Wednesday in The Regency Hotel, Dublin. With an expected 800+ Field this should hit the ceiling of maximum points in the Rankings meaning we could see some changes at the top of the Rankings come next week.

All details of the Festival here .....

IMO you really should leave in some of the posts as it gives a flow of the thread, who has gone up in the rankings or down in the rankings etc.

Yeah, will have a look for next year. Wanted to try & keep this as an information thread and not have the information getting lost in a world of posts (especially for people who might not be used to reading the site)

Probably needed 2 threads - one for points/upcoming games & another for everything else.

You can keep it as an information thread and keep the posts down to a minimum with just your posts maybe, I like the way you update the thread xyz upcoming game congrats to Johnny Bag-O-Donuts for moving into xyz position etc, then that way people can see the movers/shakers instead of trying to figure it out from a giant excel sheet.

It's a big sheet and I like the way you've split it into two parts but the top 50 can be shown as it's not a huge amount, maybe even have it linked to an external Google Docs sheet like HERE

Just my 2c, obviously when you've read them work away and delete.

New man at the top of the Rankings as Marc McDonnell (AKQJ10 on IPB) takes over after his 4th place at the D4 Events/Winimax Shorthanded Main Event.

A few well known names also moving into the top dozen spots behind him including Sean Prendeville, Noel O'Brien, Chris Dowling & Eoin Olin.

Plenty to play for in the last quarter with up next the Celtic Poker Grand Final in Carlow on Saturday Week which starts a run of 3 big weekends of poker with the BoylePoker IPO & the PP Winter Festival following on consecutive weekends.

Details of all in post above.

Spotted a good few of those near the top of the Rankings in attendance at Day 1A of the Boylepoker IPO.

Top 3 of Marc McDonnell / Michael Farrelly / Derrick Wall all through to Day 2.

Also through were Nicky Power, John Keown, Daragh Davey & Dave Masters with some others in the Top 20 busting but likely to be back with a second bullet (Prendeville/Murphy)

Long weekend ahead yet.

I'm in the top 10 and only played 3 events. That can't be right?

Is this a brag or question

If you look at the Top 10 they average 3.1 cashes from the 68 qualifying events each. Obviously if you cash in bigger buyin/number games it helps.

No not a brag I would like the bigger cash a lot more.
It should count on the how much you win as well. I don't think That a should be in the top 50 let alone the top 10.

Its a fine balance. I am looking at a few formula's for next year but the one for this year was done in a hurry (I only started this at the end of February when it was clear nobody else was doing it) and it does need to be tweaked.
Tiger is World number 1 yet hasn't won a Major since '08, Wozniacki was World Number 1 without even getting to a Slam semi-final, winner of the Tour de France is rarely No 1, etc etc......

If it was done on €'s alone the top few in the IO every year would top it and it would be pointless. Can you tell me the 40 players below you that you think have done more this year on a consistant basis to you that you think should be above you?

PS - there's still a couple of months to go yet!

PPS - Feedback is always welcome too though
