Exclamation JP Poker Master & Norwegian Masters 21st March to 1st April - Press Release

I am delighted to announce the full schedule of events for this year’s JP Poker Master & Norwegian Masters. The festival will take place in the hugely popular City West Hotel and Conference Centre.

With 51 tournaments ranging from €80 to €5000 spread out over 12 days starting on Wednesday 21st March and finishing on Sunday 1st April this truly is going to be an amazing poker festival.

In 2011 the Norwegian Masters Main Event was held in Riga, Latvia and seen a record amount of 848 players which was won by Orjan Skommo who netted over €150k after battling it out for 4 days. Orjan now resides in Ireland as he continues his studies.

The 2011 JP Poker Masters was won Anthony Rafter from Dromore, Co Mayo won seen off a very strong field of 173 made up mostly of Irish pro’s and walked away with €20k.

This year’s joint event kicks off with the Donkr.com Highroller cash game, this is a televised invitational only game, which will run for 3 days and has a minimum buy-in of €50,000.

The JP Poker Masters starts on Friday 23rd March, this is a €750 buy-in event which will be streamed live and will have a 20k starting stack with 1 hour blinds.

The first of our six Norwegian only events kicks off on Saturday 24th, the full schedule of Norwegian only events include…
€2000 HORSE
€1500 NLH Heads-Up
€800 NLH Main Event
€800 PLO
€500 Limit Hold’em 6-Max
€300 Ladies

Our schedule of side events includes
€5000 NLH Highroller 8-Max
€500 NLH 8-Max
€500 PLO Heads-Up
€300 NLH
€300 NLH 6-Max
€300 PLO 6-Max
€300 PLO Hi/Low
€300 Mixed 8 Game
€250 NLH Heads-up
€250 NLH (€100 Bounty)
€150 NLH Shoot-Out
€150 NLH 6-Max
€150 NLH “Win the Button”
€150 NLH “Rivers”
€150 ROE 6-Max
€150 Super Hold’em (3 Card)
€80 NLH Turbo’s held daily at 6pm & 10pm

But it’s not just all about tournaments, we will have some of the biggest and craziest cash games the Emerald Isle has ever seen. Last year in Riga we had all 30 of our cash tables full and had a 2 hour waiting list. We have increased our table capacity to a total of 80 and we fully expect to fill all tables.

Hotel Rooms

Prices for rooms

Single €80
Double €88
You can book rooms with booking code: NM2012

The hotel has events on both the weekend of the JP Poker Masters and the weekend we finish, and even though the hotel has almost 800 rooms the four sponsors of the Norwegian Masters

Betsson, Nordicbet, Pokerstars and Unibet have already booked and paid for 400 rooms (100 each) per night. Also the Norwegian players have already began booking.

City West will 100% sell out.

In for the 8-game. Thanks for looking after us weirdos! 2-7 triple draw, NL single draw next year and I'll be happy. Hope you're getting the keanu lookalike in to deal. Best ive seen at dealing mixed!

I played the 8-game(30-40 players) and the PLO8(25-35 players) at last years NM (in Riga).
The structure was horrible then, but hopefully JP and his crew makes an effort to give us value.

I think the numbers will be between 50 and 80 for both this events.

The 8-game at the mini-WSOP had a fine structure. Hoping for the same this time. Can't see it getting those numbers though..30 would be good.

Last years PLO Hi/Low game got under 40 players, we are expecting more this year due to some Irish and English players playing. Last year now Latvians played this event.

Also last year this event was on the same day as the Norwegian Championship PLO event.

Sorry about the delay in the getting the structures out.

We only confirmed the full schedule as few days before I went to Deauville for the EPT and have since worked the Deepstack Dublin and UKIPT Galway.

I hope to have the full schedule done this week.

Welcome to the site, its possible to ask questions in a mannerly way you know, much more likely to get an answer.

As far as I know, live poker isnt allowed in Norway so they hold their poker championships outside the country each year - last year it was in Nottingham in England. The championship events are for Norwiegan passport holders but there are a lot of events which will be open to all.

Sorry if it came out wrong.

I was just wondering why they would have that kind of event instead of just having it in Norway. But thanks for the answer despite my bad question :-)
