    ruling

    hi

im just wonder on the offical ruling of this situation
Player A is small blind....Player B in mid position and Player C is on the button
flop comes out and player A&B check while C bets...Player A calls...B folds
    Turn same action A checks...C bets...A calls
    river same again

Player C turns over two pair...Player A goes to muck cards when PLayer B who had folded on flop asks to see cards.....
    what is ruling here

    THIS:

    5. Any player who has been dealt in may request to see any hand that has been called, even if the opponent's hand or the winning hand has been mucked. However, this is a privilege that may be revoked if abused. If a player other than the pot winner asks to see a hand that has been folded, that hand is dead. If the winning player asks to see a losing players hand, both hands are live, and the best hand wins.

A,B and C all go to showdown, C showed up 2 pair before other cards were shown. Can B then ask to see A's cards if A has mucked but cards are still identifiable (whether or not they are touching muck)?

Any player who is dealt into the hand may ask to see a hand that has reached showdown (note that it is terrible etiquette).

If it is a player who has paid to reach showdown who requests it then the cards are considered live and turned face up.

If it is a player who folded on an earlier street the cards are touched off the muck to kill them and then exposed.

Both are contingent on the cards still being identifiable. If they have been mucked and cannot clearly be identified then it is tough.
May you live in interesting times!

C is the only person who HAS to show cards here. Player A is well within his right to muck his cards.

Bassically whoever gets called on the river has to show first. The other person can then choose as to whether or not he shows.

              Not true Eddie.

Any player can ask to see cards at showdown. If the asking player is an opponent at showdown, cards are live. If asking player is dead at showdown, cards are touched off the muck and are dead when shown. It is considered extremely bad etiquette to ask, especially when dead, but it is within the rules.

so, one guy folds early in the hand and then after the hand is won, and a 2nd player folds to a better hand, then the folder wants to see the mucked cards
apart from some sicko wanting to see how he was beaten into 3rd place and wanting to be sure he was behind the losing hand, this is indeed bizarre

apart from which, asking to see the hand that lost is very poor etiquette unless there is a real suspicion of collusion between the players still in the hand

                to answer the specific query
any player who has invested in a pot, may ask to see the hand if there is a showdown

                  No.

A player need only be dealt into the hand.
