Macau Irish Classic 2014, €50,000 gtd, 3 day game, €700 + €70.

MACAU IRISH CLASSIC 2014

The Macau Irish Classic takes place on the week-end of 12th-14th of September 2014. This year, The Classic returns to its original format, a 3 day game with a proper structure, ie: 25,000 chips and a 1 hour clock.

As for online satellites, Boyles will be running a few in the weeks leading up to the event. Details of them will be available on here as well.

There will be a live supersatellite on the night before the event, Thursday Sept. 11th. Full details of that will be posted up earlier.

The next live satellite in the Macau is monday, August 4th where we will be guaranteeing 4 x 700 festival tickets. Buy in to the satellite is 50+5 reg, with 1 x rebuy OR add-on @ 50.

This game will be so good Connie has decided to post two threads about it!

Good buzz about this tourney in the club so all the regulars are playing it with all the satellites we have planned over the next month in the Macau and I'm sure a few Killarney heads will follow Con to Cork for the weekend. Coming closer to the game we'll organise some golf on the Thursday as Nicky Power has confirmed his attendance in a place where he has previously had some quality scores. Doke and the firm are all also coming leeside so all in all I'd say we'll come close to breaking the 100 player barrier so it'll be closer to a 70k prize-pool.

The Metropole is a quality hotel and less than 1 minute walk from the casino as are a couple of others so if we do fill it up Connie can arrange another hotel also within close proximity also.

With a 1 hour clock there's going to be an unreal amount of play which is to be expected for the 2nd biggest buy-in tourney in Ireland after the IO. Don't worry you won't go hungry in the Macau as we'll be providing food as part of the reg on the Friday and Saturday as well as a full restaurant and bar menu.

What a pity it clashes with JP's Mini WSOP. There seems to have been a lack of good, guaranteed, tournaments in Ireland for a while and then two have to clash!
This will obviously hurt both events as I for one would like to play both and I am sure others would probably feel the same way.

I see that this is now another re-entry tournament. Never was in the past, as far as I know.
Is the re-entry cost 700 or 770?

Was speaking with Connie last night about this.

I'm going to have a look at my dates and see if I can move it.

It is a shame when games clash whether planned to or not

Hi Mick,
If a re-entry is used, it will cost 700 (reg-free).

Thanks JP, I'll also do some checking on my side. Ive got all my printing done and it was by far the best weekend for the h9otel next door (hence the good price). Id personally hate for them to clash as it doesnt do either event any favours, and anyway, Id like to play your event myself.
I'll give you a call tomorrow again about it, and with that contact I promised you.

Hi Connie,

Just to confirm I'm going to change my dates to Tuesday 16th - Saturday 20th September which should help both events and accommodate players wishing to play both events.

Just to clarify, that should read 700 (no reg-fee) on the 2nd bullet.

With satts every 10 days, would that make the next one Thursday the 14th? Just want to be sure so I can organise the evening off work. Also, will there be satts on Boyles?

Yep Thursday 14th is the next one. I'm sure Con could bring you up and down from killarney on the night if you give him a bell. As regards Boyles they are planned but theyll prob start half way during august or near the end.

We had 35 players and 24 rebuys last night to cover the guarantee with 2 deepish cash nl holdem tables in full swing at 2am when I left with a 3rd a possibility!
