Been over a few times and always enjoyed the earlier rounds more than the semis or final, ur virtually on top of the players and u can almost smell their sweat! no venue in the world comes even close to the crucible!

That would be great! I might be going to LA for work the first week, but I'd certainly be up for going the 2nd week.

Xaio played supremely well in Killarney at the PTC and I marked him down as one to follow, so couldnt argue against you there.

Wouldnt stop you backing Wollaston either. Holt can be good on his day, and his strength is his lack of fear of opponnents, but if he gives away chances to Wollaston as his his norm, then theres only going to be one winner.

My own nap for tomorrow is Alan McManus. who either plays Peter Lines or Robin Hull who play tonite.Watched him play at the PTC and havent seen him cueing so well in a long time. Was chatting to him afterwards and he told me he had found his confidence for the 1st time in a few years. You could see that though from the way he was playing.
Well Tony,
Xaio destroyed Diunn 6-0 earlier. Wollaston is up 4-1 and White is up 3-2.
McManus plays at 7.00pm. I did 6 x doubles, 4 xtrebles and an accum, so heres hoping.

Xiao Guodong to beat Mike Dunn @ Evs

He has wins over Wattana/O Brien/Sullivan/Ebdon in the PTC last month
21 wins from 31 matches this season
WR of 55 but up to 12 in the Order of Merit

Dunn has won only 6 of 15 matches this season and has slipped from 43 to 73 in the OOM. He's also lost his last 4 matches

I think Goudong should be favourite for this match and is high on confidence going into it.

Ben Woollaston to beat Michael Holt @ 11/10

23 wins from 32 matches this season
Won a PTC event in August beating Higginson/Doherty/McManus and then Dott in the final
WR of 53 but up to 5 in the Order of Merit

Tough draw for Woollaston tho v Holt. He's a steady player on his day and has won 18/28 matches this season. Ranked at 38 but up to 30 in the OOM. Could go either way but i fancy Woollaston to win this one.

Michael White to beat Liang Wenbo @ Evs

Beat Pinches 6-4 in the previous round
Beat Greene/Higginson in PTC last month before losing to O Sullivan in the Semi
He's lost a few final frame deciders to which means he's there or there abouts
18 wins from 28 matches this season
WR of 60 but up to 20 in the Order of Merit

Wenbo has won 11/20 this season and has dropped to 49 in the OOM from a ranking of 35. Has a good game on his day so not too sure on this one, but will take a piece of White.

@ Connie or anyone. Any opinions because you might know these players a bit better? than me.
Xiao Guodong 6-0 Mike Dunn
Ben Woollaston 6-3 Michael Holt
Michael White 6-2 Liang Wenbo

Mark Allen won and Williams was a walkover so that won't count

Having a look at the China open qualifiers... Small Accum on the following

Jimmy White 1/2 vs L. Highfield
Anthony Hamilton 4/11 vs Luca Brecel
Robert Milkins 4/7 vs Liu Chuang
Gerard Greene 4/7 vs SAM Craigie

No shocks please!

Brecel winning wouldn't be much of a shock imo

ADITYA MEHTA v LEE SPICK (Aussie Qualifiers)

No 16/1 tips here but i think Aditha Metha is a great bet at 8/13 PP to beat Lee Spick(7pm this evening). Its 2/5 Boyles and 1/2 Betfair.
Metha is a good solid player in the qualifiers and i even think 2/5 is a fair price. Spick not even knocking around the qualifiers much anymore looking disillusioned with the game.

Any opinions on The Masters guys? Did Bingham and Carter both at 20's in the outright . Think Bingham took his game to the next level in 2012, won a few minor titles and was excellent in the premier league. Carter has that habit of flying under the radar in these bigger competition's, people rarely talk about him as a contender but he tends to pop up in his fair share of latter stages. Possibly lacking that killer instinct to get over the final hurdle so prob one to lay out of if he makes the final.

Both have very tough 1st round matches though so could be early heartbreak.

We are all aware of Selby's talent but I finally think he realises now that Major titles aren't gonna just fall into his arms.
He has really upped his his game and seems extremely focused!
I reckon he's gonna be the main man in the game for the next few years & a world title isn't far away!!!

Think 13/2 is a huge price for him this week. I know he has a tough 1st rd match & is on the same side as Trump but is still overpriced...

I've backed Robertson. Shaun Murphy was my other consideration and Mark Williams is overpriced.

Oh and Doherty hasn't got a clue. He's the opposite of a good snooker pundit/commentator

What's the view on this - Snooker players are divided over plans which mean the world's top 16 players will no longer be guaranteed a place in the latter stages of most ranking events

I'm on the fence.

In every other sport all players start in round 1, about time snooker adopted this model.

Bit two-faced from Hearn seeing as his top darts player don't have to qualify, the top 16 or 32 get to start in a later round than everyone else. And he designed that entire organisation and all its events himself.

Will be comical when 13 Asians without a word of English or an ounce of charisma qualify for the latter stages of a BBC competition. Tough sell to the domestic audience.

I notice a thinly veiled hint in that link that indicates we can expect a bigger World Championships (playerswise) with smaller games (bye bye best of 31s) when the current contract ends.

Also his Usain Bolt comparision is beyond retarded.
