Lo hand is effectively counted back to front, in this case you have 8 6.... where as your opponent has 6 5.....

Well first of all you are missing the correct spelling of thought!

Secondly He has a 6 low, you have an 8 low.

Yeah this, but just to make it clearer.

You have A2xx
Opponent has 4453
Board is AK468

You need to use 2 in your hand and 3 on the board. You must use the A2 in your hand, so you have to use the 468 on board for a 8642A low hand.

You opponent is using the A46 along with his 2 lowest non counterfeit cards (35) to make a 6543A low hand.

Always count backwards and the lowest number wins the low hand. If the board read A2468, your low hand doesn't change, but your opponent would now have 5432A for the lo, and 23456 for the high.

The way to work out a low hand is explained above. It starts with the highest number and if that's shared then the next one and so on (7 low better than an 8 low, 7-4 low better then a 7-5 low, 8-6-4 low better than a 8-6-5 low).

At least you know a good hand when you see one, A-2-J-10 is far superior to 3-4-4-5 as long as there was any action preflop.

also think 'which hand would win in high poker' this hand loses in low eg KQ932 wins in high poker vs J10976 but loses in low poker.
