I'd said that to a few Norwegians I played with, with the change in the laws in Norway would this be there last trip, all seemed to think even if they played there own eventat home they'd still be back to the citywest in a heartbeat for this festival again!!

Law passed in Norway for the next 3 years will only allow 3 events for a combined buy-in of 1250 with maximum 5 satellites.

No Side Events and No Cash Games

Very sick raffle going on here in City West.
5 with over 16k

The winner and it's not the 1st person out of the hat.
It's the 2nd person

Funniest thing I saw all week was 5 or 6 Norwegians hopping the fence and running over the golf course to the lake. One lad clearly lost a prop bet as he stripped down and jumped in for a swim. My phone read 2 degrees at the time.

Been great craic all week. Glad to hear it should be back next year

Great day today, came up from Limerick for this game but said I would take in the omaha turbo at 2. Arrived at 1 50 and spent just as much time in the q than in the tourney 40 mins v 35) checked at the reg desk at 3 30 to be told deffo going ahead. Sat in the bar for 2 hours before reg to be told at 5 30 it was now on tomorrow . I can understand why but really pissed off, enough NL events on to drop 1 and leave on the 8 game...

Just back home now after a really enjoyable week. Really can't give enough credit to JP and co. To run something of this magnitude for four years and literally have zero noteworthy negative incidences is incredible.

The gossip I heard re the event returning is as follows: the legislation in Norway will allow for a 'Norwegian Poker Championships' in the autumn, but this will be three events with no cash games allowed. The plan is for the festival to return to the Citywest again at the same time next year and be run very similarly to this year.

This is without a doubt the event of the calendar year in my opinion. Circa 3000 players floating around the place in great spirits and really enjoying themselves. I have been working at the event for the past 3 years and I have to say that it is the most enjoyable event to work at year in year out.

Well done to JP and Frode for putting on a great selection of tournaments that have increased in numbers year on year, unbelieveable to say the least, and providing a great experience for both players and staff alike.

I, as a member of staff, have to say that it is the most relaxed and most fun event to work at where everybody chips in and does there fair share without any issues whatsoever. Everybody works as a unit lead by JP and I can't think of any other event that is co-ordinated to such a high level.

Congratulations to all that played and cashed and congratulations on another massively successful event.

Only approximately 355 days until it starts again

Congrats JP, Christine and team on another phenomenally successful festival. Best in world.

Looking forward to next year already, with maybe a Binglao tourney or 2 in the club in the interim to tide us over!

Great event, its hugely impressive that such a large and complicated event is run without a hitch; it's also by far the most enjoyable festival to play at. Thanks for all the hard work to all the staff and organisers.

Sincere apologies for the inconvenience. I did try and post here as soon as I received any information about changes to the schedule.

I understand your disappointment especially due to your travel and costs incurred and the fact that live 8 games are few and far between. We are very sorry.

Unfortunately, the queue at your arrival time was probably the worst that we had for the whole festival. The Norwegian Turbo Event also started at 2 and had a massive increase in numbers, from 355 last year to 486 this year. Except for the Ladies Event, none of the other Norwegian Events had such a large increase and we weren't expecting or prepared for it.

Ultimately, I think that this event needs 30 more tables for next year.

Thanks for the kind words, but there's always room for improvement.

As as you can see by Enzo's post above, it wasn't run without a hitch, however from my side of the registration desk, overall it went very well and felt a bit smoother than last year.
