    Leaving the cash table

What are the rules and regulations around leaving the cash table and then sitting back down. Is there an agreed amount of time before a player can sit back down with less than they have cashed out for?

If a player, say, cashes out for €1000 and then comes back an hour later, two hours later, three hours later, can they sit back down for less than the €1000? Is there a set time or does it vary from cardroom to cardroom?

Not sure about the rules of it, and these would be different in each card club, but I think that it would be considered pretty bad etiquette in any card club in Dublin to sit down again at any stage the same night with any less than you left with (unless you had good reason). If you won a grand and wanted to sit down again with 200 or so my advice would be to go somewhere else when you stand up and start off again.

From what I have seen over the years it would probably be a minimum of 1 hour after you left a game before you could go and sit down again at the tables.

Now where it gets tricky is when if you have been a bigger winner and sit in for less than what you left with some people find that really bad and might possibly mention it to them, it just seems a little shady.

Technically there is nothing wrong with it but it would probably be perceived as pretty bad etiquette and if people are seen constantly doing it well im sure people will start to avoid that player.

at the end of the day people play poker to win money, if they get their €200 up to €1000, leave an come back in an hour with €200 because they dont wanna risk all their winnings, i wouldnt mind unless there was an official rule against it

also, a little off the main topic, what's the ruling on people leaving for whatever reason when their big blind is approaching, come back after 5 mins and play the button or CO without posting their blinds? or is it just my local casino that ignores this when it happens

Yeah this happends from time to time, if you miss it you miss it, you shouldnt be allowed to get the button for free but can come back into the game thou at any other position, some places will make you put in the missed blinds but im not sure if thats done in Ireland.

If people are seen to be constantly dodging well then it should be brought up.

            when you crush a game make sure you do the following in order;

            1. count out your stack while looking and smiling at the biggest donators to your fortune
            2. when finished counting your stack make sure to ask for a chip tray even if you dont need one
            3. ask the dealer if you stand up how soon can you sit back in with original buy-in. (make sure other players hear this)
            4. if the dealer says 1 hour make sure you go "ok guys see you in one hour" (you can add in "suckers" here but its probably overkill)
            5. dissapear for 55 minutes
            6. ask dealer has it been 1 hour yet - "no? ok." ask this repeatedly over the next 5 minutes. Other players will appreciate your time keeping skills.
            7. sit back down
            8. ask what was original buyin? "200. ok"
            9. open wallet and peel off a huge wad of fiddys
            10. put one single 50 down on the table (you may want to ask for change in singles)
            11. build impressive €1 tower
            12. when a player busts out take one of your €1 chips and toss it in his direction saying "This is a momento from the time you got steam rolled by the big dog"

when you are sitting back down with your €50 please avail of every available oppertunity to slowroll, talk trash, splash the pot, hollywood it up etc etc

It's not a problem I've ever had, I just tend to lose stack after stack live instead.

TBH, I its fine with me. Obviously i'd rather they had the biggest stack possible, but i'd also ratyher they sat back in with 200 than not at all, esp with all that money behind in the wallet.
I'm happy enough if a newish player does it at the table, as the loss in value due to the smaller stack is out weighed by the moany fuckers on tilt playing bad spots in order to isolate the guy who went south.

                        Perfect night in dublin poker,
early on a friday night, Buy-in for $200,
Spin up to $300, if its quiet head to coppers for the usual.
Return to game when its busy, buy-in for $200 (you spent the extra $100 in coppers, nobody minds cos you sitting down drunk)
Have a fish stack 2 players to you right and immediatly sit out with $600.
Play for an hour, up to $300 again
Fish returns for $200, stackees play too many pots to try and isolate to get cash back, you have position and reap the rewards. Sping up to 700, fish still has 400 behind. and Reloads to $100.
Last stakee has $20 and trys to stack fish playing aggressively with A8, fish can't fold 99s, you scoop with QQ.
Game breaks saturday morning, you leave with $1000.
Fish leaves with his original $200. Good job lad, see you again
