Phil Gordon's little green book for very basic stuff covers things like hand selection, player types, stack sizes and a lot of specific types of plays. If you already know, or have a relatively solid tourney game I'd suggest his little gold book. Written after the online boom it covers more advanced things like hand ranges, complex math and also the agressive nature of the modern game ie. 3,4,5 bets. The second book won't really apply too often for your every day 50 to 100 buy in live tourneys or low stakes online tourneys, the standard of play just isn't that strong, it really comes into its own when you get into 50+ buy ins online. The info is still very valuable but could be costly if misapplied in these lower buy in tourneys. Are you mainly interested in live or online? Do you have much tourney experience?
