    Over Pair Strategy Help!

    All,

    I play speed poker on B365. 10c/20c

I find I have great success against players who hold AA/KK and I set mine them and clean their stack which is great fun. the problem is trying to avoid being that victim in reverse. I'll give you an example, which I played a little differently as I usually lead flop, brake, lead river as 3 streets of value is never easy to achieve.

    in SB with AA
    Co raises to 50c
    I r/r to 1.40c

    all folds

    Flop

    10 8 2 - rainbow

    I check he bets 1.70c
    I call

happy with this as I'm playing a missed AK/AQ and hoping he trundles along betting/bluffing

Turn is a K bringing two hearts

    I check he bets 3.80c
I call - happy enough to be honest, board is dryish and I have strong holding, his AK/KQ/KJ is trapped nicely and i'm ok.

    River 3 spades a blank

I check he pushes for 12 euro ...wtf? I'm still relatively happy I have a lot of his range covered but not loving a call either

This is my problem..... when do I get away from overpairs...they are without doubt my biggest leak..get killed with QQ-KK on a regular basis

I would really appreciate the opinion of more experienced cash players who consistently beat the lower and mid levels..... I need to sharpen this area up.

    Thanks

    Ray

what do you gauge is range to be?
    preflop/flop/turn/river

    what are his tendencies?
have you seen him stack off light?
You played this extremely passively so you hand is well disguised,
if you felt he had AK or even Kx why not raise turn?
when you check river, what is your plan?
Surely inducing the shove is exactly what you wanted?
People say I should be more humble I hope they understand, they don't listen when you mumble

Step 1, stop playing speed poker and think you'll be a winning player.

      Step 2, you're welcome

K10 likely, or better, they're rarely bluffing at this level like that.

so I think if I was agressive or not I was smoked

I think the river was a 50/50 close your eyes and call, agree?

range not AA/KK/QQ as no raise
              so any 2 broadway and/or 22-JJ

I think your right, my trap worked well.... I just got caught by a set...but do I fold the river push? To do that I must be behind

without know specific suits etc this is top of head stuff and assuming he barrels BDFDs/QJs/J9s/Q9s too if he doesnt have enough bluffs in range our equity goes down obv.

also 3b size is too small, can also possibly x/r flop or turn. think how you played it is also fine.
