    Collusion?

    €35 freezeout.

Two friends in our game seem to have been playing independently all night. They have played aggressively whenever both of them are in a pot together, and called each other down quite light.

Then this pot came up -

    pre -

    player 1 - limp
    buddy 1 - shove (10 bb's)
buddy 2 - call (has 15 bb's left in his stack)
    Player 1 - call's (has around 10 bb's behind)

We're 3 way for the flop

    KJ9

    Player 1 checks
Buddy 2 shoves having hit a pair of 9's

    Any thoughts appreciated.

Apart from bad play, i don't see any collusion here

No, not collusion IMO, just really really bad play from player 1 and buddy 2. Seems v standard for a live donkament?
They will be like WTF how does he always have the top of his range, and they will be saying that when you show up with like nine's - Jimmy Fricke
Nine's are the top of my range - Shaun Deeb

I expected Buddy 1 to check it down.

No idea how this could be seen as collusion tbh.

I just thought his shove offered his buddy protection and could've been a ploy to keep the big pot 'in house'.

His last 5 bb shove into a 30bb pot is hardly protection. Why didn't player 1 just go all in anway? Pretty stupid calling and planning on finding a fold or even feeling pressure to fold.

Checking it down would have been implicit collusion a lot more than shoving 5BBs.

Sorry to be unclear, they had the total in brackets left after the call pre.

I hate when people think i/others should check a hand down. There's a few situations when it's ok to check it down, but people miss a ton of value by checking pots down to either eliminate a player or move up a money place.

I quite like the guys shove with the 9s if he thinks either of them have AQ/A10/22-88 or if he can get the other guy to fold a weak K or J. You'd have to be there i guess but it doesn't seem like collusion to me
