All-in on flop, fold called, but has nuts.

1-2 Pot Limit Hold'em on a Saturday night.
Player A bets pot (70) with AJ diamonds on the flop of 9T4 two diamonds, player B calls all-in (7).
As the river is dealt, which makes A the nuts, inexplicably he says "fold" and then tables his hand. Player B makes a claim to the pot.

He said Fold! etc etc with lots of shouting etc etc.

Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated,

He can't "fold" as there is no further action after the flop.

Had he throw the cards in face down it would be conceding the pot but I am inclined to say cards play in this situation.
May you live in interesting times!

imo you can say what you like but once you show your cards they do the talking for you.
