Think I'm going to give up on trying to fix my destop and just buy a new one.

Only going to be using it for poker and general miscellaneous stuff.

    Fortron/Source Epsilon 600W, Blue Fan,
    Gigabyte GA-P35-DS3, P35, Socket-775,
    Intel Core 2 Duo E6750 2.67GHz 1333Mhz
    Corsair TWIN2X 6400C5DHX DDR2, 2048MB
    Gigabyte GeForce 8400GS 256MB DDR2,
    Western Digital Caviar SE16 500GB SATA2
    NEC DVD±RW burner AD-7200A, IDE,
Microsoft Windows Vista Home Premium English
Those are the specs of my old one, would be happy with anything similar.

Ankermann is where we got our home computer a couple years back. They were pretty damn good, except they forgot to install one of the DVD drives, fair balls to them though, we sent them a photograph of the case, and they sent a replacement the next day.

One thing I would recommend though is asking them to put some fans on it, ours wouldn't be the most looked after (haven't lived at home in 2 years) and dust and heat combine something fierce after a while. We only have the one fan on it.

build your own tbh, most site have barebones structures which you can add to/replace etc.
the only downside is you need to do a bit of research as to the best components you need to get (pretty easy as you can mention your budget on overclock .net or boards etc, and they'll come out with a good structure for ya). Zod and DP would also probably be able to reccomend what's worthwhile at the moment also. you'll end up getting a much better machine for the price and a lot more "upgradeable" over time.
after that most sites will build it for you for an extra 15 quid or so or Zod will offer 12.50 and DP will undercut him to 10.

            That processor is lol old.

I can get you one of the new Intel chips (i3, i5, i7) at a significant discount if you decide to build your own fwiw...

I'd be happy if I could build it for 3/400 is that possible? I won't be doing a while lot with it. Happy enough to build it myself and I'll probably just use the two hard drives from my old pc.

Just not really sure what psu and chip etc to get.

                  Thanks.

Thinking of going with the NVIDIA GeForce G 210 Passive 1GB. Would I notice much of a difference running two 1900x1200 monitors if ones going through the VGA and the other a DVI? Or should I just go for a card with two DVIs?

quick question, why are you getting a terrabyte HD as well as a SSD 64gb drive?

Will you be using the SSD for your operating system and the Sata drive for storage?
Is that how you crash a wedding? yes it is, Bionic Barry, yes it is.

also, I'd suggest going for an ASUS board rather than the ASrock.

The guys on boards seem to think that I wont even need that but I might bump it up to for anyway.

going by reviews Scan are great until something goes wrong, then it's a mixed bag of results. That said it does look like there's more good resolutions than bad ones.

The machine looks good, although if you're going 64bit you can get more ram than is there atm.

Asking a friend about the motherboard at the moment, will post up the reply.
