Why have you scrapped the side events on the Friday and Saturday? And will it be the same for the Connacht one? and what the hell is 'nearest the wall'?

Quite literally throwing something closest to the wall. Was in for chunks a couple of years ago at the Norwegians. Possibly the best hole I've ever got out of

Thats a bit shte tbh, is it the same for Connacht? Hardly any decent events in the midlands or west so was looking forward to it, but cancelling the sides ruins the weekend imo.

You can play for a 50k guarantee on many poker sites onlin evrey night if you want.
The side events in the dublin festival did not get good numbers.
Is it possible the organisers want people to play cash games?
Or are these going to be rake free as we will all be having the craic and socialising?
Fwiw i really enjoyed the last tourney.

Id imagine the provincial legs might get much better numbers for these. Dublin players are spoiled for choice compared to some parts of the country so a weekend festival for them is no big deal

Thank you for your feedback.

On Friday, Day 1A starts at 5pm. Late reg is open until 10.15pm. If we schedule a side event on Friday it would need to begin at around 9pm, maybe 10pm at the very latest. There is nobody available to play a 9pm side event because reg is still open in the main.

In Leinster, not even 1 player registered in the Friday night side event because they were all still in the main event. While you might think it does not make sense to schedule a Friday night tournament, our experience in running live events has proven that there is little point in putting one on Friday evening given the Main Event start time and late reg period.

On Saturday, we have a very similar situation... Again, all players are still in the main Event due to the late reg and re entry period. There were very few players available to play the 8pm side event. During the Leinster stop many of the Players asked us to put on a Turbo 1C flight for the Main Event instead of a side event. We listened to what the players who played the event asked us for and we gave it to them. Again, given the fact that 1B reg closes at 6.15pm and then 1C is on at 8pm there will be very few players who would rather enter a 100 side event with 15 players than a 170 Main Event with 50,000 guaranteed.

When planning the Munster MEGASTACK, we took into consideration all dynamics of the Leinster schedule, the number of players who wanted to play each side event and the resons why they were quiet or did not start and we took into consideration the fact that so many players asked for a turbo 1C flight at 8pm on saturday.

Please consider all of these factors and ask yourself realisticly... how many players will want to play or be available to play an evening side event on friday or saturday?

We are always open to listening to feedback and listening to what the players would like at our live events. We thank you for your feedback and will take into consideration that there is a number of you here who are clearly asking for side events on friday and saturday but I fail to see that they will realistically have a reasonable number of players in them. We will however discuss the feedback here and update if we feel there is a reasonable demand for a side event on Friday or saturday.

When we concluded that there would be little or no interest in side events on friday or staurday we decided to just give the players a fun time after they bag up in the main event... We are supplying free live music, beer pong and other fun games. We are taking on the costs involved in these extra activities and just want to see players have a good time while they are with us in Clonmel.

I hope this has perhaps clarified the decision and explained how we arrived at it. Once again, thank you for your feedback and we will discuss it and update here if we feel there would be reasonable interest in side events on Friday and saturday

Nick

Thats a decent reply anyway and i understand your position. However i dont see why you coudnt put on a €50 turbo at 10pm on Friday and 8 or 9 pm on Saturday. Not everyone will be arsed about music or beer pong in fairness.

Well cant suit everyone thats the thing.
I cashed in the last one and to be honest the thoughts of playing another tourney after 1 and a half days playing were not on my mind.

Have you booked your hotel room yet?

We met with the Conmel Park Hotel today..... They have 30 bedrooms left for the week end and will hold the bedroomost rate of 99 per twin or double room (including breakfast) until 6th July or until they are all sold. There are only 30 rooms left and I think they will sell soon.

To avail of this rate you need to contact the hotel and tell them you are playing the poker event .
