    Staking Rules Sticky

Following on from the influx of all the staking/selling % threads, we've decided to set up a forum to keep everything in one place. So from now on, if you're looking to sell % of yourself for a live/online game, please use this forum. This is also the place to go if you're looking to stake people into either live/online games.

Firstly, this isn't a staking site and posters who are deemed to only use it as such may have their posting ability removed from the staking forum. The following 2 rules must be adhered to

    • You must be a member of this forum for at least 2 months AND have 30+ posts in order to apply for a stake.
    • At least 50% of your posts must be outside of the Staking/Selling % forum.

Please do not stake anyone that doesn't meet either of these requirements

    RULES FOR THE STAKING FORUM
    1. Under no circumstances are you allowed to start a thread or post in an active thread asking for a stake (unless that thread is open for stakes). First offense will result in anything from a warning to a ban, and any further offenses will result in a long ban. NO BEGGING!

    2. IPB accept no responsibility whatsover for any monies that change, or don't change hands when staking takes place. It's up to each person to understand the risks involved in staking and suffer the consequences if it goes balls up. You can use the site as a platform, but it's 100% your decision if and who you stake.

    3. When starting a staking thread, please include the number of stakes, the buyin, the time and the site. This makes it easier for everyone to see what's going on and allows you to easily tell your thread apart from the rest.

      e.g 2 x $22 stakes - 8pm - Pokerstars

    4. In your staking OP, please outline exactly what you're looking for in a horse, and what the rewards are for cashing. This avoids any ambiguity should you cash.

    5. If you get sent money for a stake, but subsequently can't play, you must send the funds back to the OP asap.

    6. As courtesy to the OP, please post your exit hand and any hands that have a big impact on your stack.

    7. It's ok to offer advice on hands posted, but please no slating the stakee. The HH is primarily to show the staker the progress of his horse.

    8. If you bust out after being staked, don't offer to send the money back for playing bad/making mistakes etc. The OP knows the risks when awarding stakes.

    9. If you cash as a stakee, please post up the amount you won. You're welcome to do the maths yourself, but rather than give the OP a figure, give them the amount you cashed for.

    10. We may add rules, or change the forum rules anyway we see fit if the staking thread goes in a direction we don't want it to go.

We don't want people signing up exclusively to play as a stakee. We'd like you to give something back and be a part of the forum.

Please don't create a new account on IPB just to offer stakes unless someone on here can vouch for you. It's usually tied into a shill somewhere along the line and some members on here have been once bitten twice shy in similar situations.

Similar to applying for a stake, you must be a member here for at least 2 months, or have 30+ posts in order to offer stakes if you don't meet the above requirement.

          This was updated :

Firstly, this isn't a staking site and posters who are deemed to only use it as such may have their posting ability removed from the staking forum. The following 2 rules must be adhered to

          • You must be a member of this forum for at least 2 months AND have 30+ posts in order to apply for a stake.
          • At least 50% of your posts must be outside of the Staking/Selling % forum.

Please do not stake anyone that doesn't meet either of these requirements

This was removed because there wasn't a lot of interest and it was a lot of work for nothing

We will also have a sticky which will list all details of stakes from both a staker and a stakee's POV. It will be updated once or twice a month minimum. The "Hall of Fame" is twofold.

          • It gives potential stakers a chance to see at a glance, all the stats of people that have previously been staked so they will know if someone putting their name forward is a first timer or if they have a proven track record. Beware of 1st time posters and people that can't be vouched for. There is already a Poker Testimonials thread that people can read and continue to post in should they wish.

          • Both stakers and stakees stats will be recorded so we can see who's running hot, and which staker has the golden touch.

          • I'll go through each staking thread and take results out from it and populate the chart. There's no need to send PMs with results. If you want to put a summary of who you staked/cashed at the end of your thread, that's fine.
