It hasn't happened on Firefox yet while it's still happening with Chrome.

Clear the cache or something on Chrome?

It's looking like it's only happening at work, and only on Chrome for me.

Annoying that it's happening anywhere, but it does seem to be specific to you there. Apart from the usual cache or reinstall suggestions, I have nothing to contribute at this point.

Not a bother, it seems like it's gotta be a problem on my end anyway.

                              lo ha folks.
Changing to Open DNS is probably the quickest way to resolve this.
I was pretty sure the VF issue had been resolved but anyway...
                              1) First, open your router’s settings page by opening it’s address (http://192.168.x.x/)

                              2) Hit “Expert Mode” on the left sidebar or Advanced

                              3) Confirm that you want to enter expert mode, then click “configure” and then “connection”

                              4) Scroll down to “Primary DNS Server” and change it to “208.67.222.222″. Change “Secondary DNS server” to “208.67.220.220″.

Hit “Save and Restart Connection” at the bottom of the page, wait a few moments, and complete registration on the OpenDNS site.

That'll do it on most routers. Obv the instructions may vary depending on make

for 3g dongle users you need to do this in your network settings
                                  Click Start.
                                  Open Control Panel.
                                  Network & internet
                                  View Network status & tasks
Click Network Connections (on Vista machines, this option is found under "network and sharing centre", then "manage network connections" on the left hand side).
Find the Local Area Connection icon.
Right-click on the icon and select Properties.
On the general tab, highlight Internet Protocol (TCP/IP) (if there is an IPV4 and IPV6 option, highlight IPV4).
Click properties on the right hand side of the box.
In the new window, make sure "obtain an IP address automatically" is selected.
In the bottom half of this window, click the "use the following DNS server addresses" option.
Please enter the following DNS addresses into the boxes:
                                  Preferred DNS Server: 208.67.222.222
                                  Alternate DNS Server: 208.67.220.220
                                  Hit Ok.

Maybe if you google how to change dns settins on your particular phone model it might turn up something? Otherwise, DeadParrot is much better placed to advise.

Ok i have watching this thread with a mixture of curiousity and concern with a large helping of confusion..

                                                              1. curious as to whats going on?
                                                              2. concern as to whether I'm next?
                                                              3. confusion as to why it works for me and not for others?

Its just that i thought if was an IPB server issue then everyone would be suffering 'glitches' but because a limited but seemingly considerate number of ppl are suffering its an ISP server problem..

A summary/analysis/explaination of current situation would be appreciated

Its just that i thought if was an IPB server issue then everyone would be suffering 'glitches' but because a limited but seemingly considerate number of ppl are suffering its an ISP server problem..

A summary/analysis/explaination of current situation would be appreciated

The internal server errors others seem to be getting are more worrying though, but I haven't got one yet. Can someone post a screenshot next time they get one please? I haven't got one yet, but I haven't been on as often as others lately.

Then you go back to the host file, open it with notepad and type in the IP address as shown above, followed by the name.
