Ok il post this up here before i publish my blog because I talk about this hand in there.

Some info

- there has been a lot of 3 betting going on but I havnt been involved much
- villain is loose cannon from IPB
- blinds are 400/800 with a 50 ante
- I have c 25k and cover Villain but just about

the hand

Some randomer min-raises in late position. I 3bet on the button to 4k with QQ. Denis flat calls in the small blind and original raiser folds.

Flop is Jc 7s 2h

I bet 7k and Denis goes into the tank – asks me how much I have left. I say about 13k.


After looking like he was folding for an eternity Denis moves all in

your move and comments on how the hand was played?

Theres a decent chance he has AA tho i suppose.

If he turns up with jj, 77 or 22 just lol at him.

7k on the flop is far far far too much. You can see that pretty clearly in how committed you are now, so obv call and pray, but I don't think you're ahead too much. Hopefully ahead enough to call though.

Check back the flop though imo vs a SB cold call of a 3b from someone who hasn't been overly active. Its not that you don't think your hand is good, its just a better line imo.

He turns up with JJ+ a lot here I think, and doesn't turn up with much else very often.

Think the answer to both is no. I believe he's pretty competent, so both would be crazily unlikely.

yeah flop bet was a disastor - I got my numbers completely wrong and would normally only bet 5k in that spot - not sure if I like checking though but its close.

the mistake was made here alright, deffo bet less.
I don't think you can fold now though

I would bet about 4500 on a board like that. 7000 is WAY too much but you already know that.

Even though you're getting a sick price and only have 13k back, I can't see how you're ever good here. Unless you know more then I do and he might be going crazy with AJ or TT or something i'd fold. And hit myself for betting so much.

Good fold imo. I don't see you ever having the best hand here. AA or KK imo. With all the light 3betting going on it's a good spot to slowplay AA or KK.

If LCs description above is accurate, the best you can hope for is a split with QQ
